Metallica has finally attached a name and release date to their long-gestating tenth studio album. According to the iconic metal band’s website, 'Hardwired… To Self-Destruct' will arrive Nov. 18.
The follow-up to 2008’s 'Death Magnetic' will span two discs and nearly 80 minutes of music. Metallica also debuted the title track, 'Hardwired', on Minneapolis’ 93X earlier today.
“Hardwired… represents the next phase of our journey as Metallica,” the band wrote.
Frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich produced the album with Greg Fidelman, who worked on Metallica’s 2011 collaborative album with Lou Reed, 'Lulu', and records by bands including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slayer, and Slipknot.
