If they showed just one episode of a show per day, they could immediately double their programming. Just a suggestion...

There's really only 3 sitcoms I'd love to see back on TV just so a nice set could be made for trading..

Alice, It's a Living, & Chico and the Man

If Alice and Murphy Brown are coming I'll be enthralled!!!

Soap and Benson coming back would also be a treat!!!

Antenna also hinted that Growing Pains was coming soon.

They also said that Silver Spoons and What's Happening are coming in January, and that Archie Bunker's Place will also join down the road.

Maybe someone will be able to make good trading sets for "Alice" and "Benson".

They just better air them in prime time on weeknights so they don't have the split screen crunch. That would be totally unacceptable for trading sets.

Agreed. I think Newhart is on around midnight with the current schedule so it probably doesn't get many viewers. I'd like to see Green Acres get a few weekend showings again.
I'm open to all these new shows coming on board, I just hope they don't get rid of my favorites!

Green Acres is moving to MeTV next year. I don't know when exactly but I'm glad. No more credit crunch.

PhoenixAcres
08-18-2016, 05:52 PM
I've heard talk that it wouldn't move there until 2018, when Antenna's contract is up. Either way it'll be nice to see it on MeTV again. I think Me was the first of the retro subchannels to pick up Green Acres before it left in 2012.

Right, that's one thing I have to give MeTV credit for ( ). The credit crunches aren't a major turnoff but they're an irritation that ruins how the show is meant to be viewed.

The Addams Family coming Sept. 4
Wings coming Sept. 12

This is from their site: http://antennatv.tv/shows/

These are the shows I really hope they keep for awhile. I like some of the other shows they have but a lot of them get overplayed too much...

Dear John
Dennis the Menace
Evening Shade
Family Ties
Green Acres
Hazel
The Jeffersons
Maude
Mr. Belvedere
Newhart
One Day at a Time
Small Wonder

me-tv isn't the only retro subchannel that airs commercials also they don't crunch the credits. cable channels like tv land also air commercials even cartoon network , boomerang

That's the good question. Soap ' s the only one of the confirmed new shows I'd try to see. My guess is they'll slip it in near the Lear shows, but early morning would be great.

Soap will probably go the same way Dear John did. It will get picked up as a brand new show for Antenna TV and then will be put on in early morning hours (3-4 A.M.) when the majority of people are still sleeping. The only ones who will watch are insomniacs or night owls like me or early birds.

Soap was on AntennaTV when it launched. It got at least 3 cycles. Benson also aired, but only two episodes a week and barely made it half way through one cycle before it disappeared.

I made myself a nice DVD set for "Murphy Brown" from the encore airings so I'm really not looking forward to it coming to the channel but I'm extremely excited about "Alice". I can't get Antenna TV at my home but I'm hoping someone will be able to make a DVD set for seasons 5-9.

My guess is its mostly Weekend changing. The Addams Family will be on from 5-6pm on Saturdays.

My guesses:
Family Ties moves back to 10; Barney Miller moves to Weekends only
Some B&W sitcom before Addams Family, maybe? Father Knows Best from 4-5pm?

Saturdays: (merely guesses)
1-My Mother the Car
2-Gidget
3-I Dream of Jeannie
4-Bewitched
5-The Addams Family
6-Mr. Belvedere
7-Small Wonder
8-Family Ties
9-Doogie Howser, M.D.

They seriously need to get rid of "The Partridge Family" every day at 2pm. That's right in the middle of the day and it stinks everything up.

Also, they need to put a better show on at 10pm instead of "Barney Miller". I like the show but it can get dull at times and 10pm is prime time.

Eh. If you don't like it , you do not have to watch it. Good Times was and still is popular just like the other Norman Lear shows. The Norman Lear shows are probably the reason why so many watch Antenna TV. Since they are so popular, I can't see them leaving the schedule anytime in the near future. As are most Norman Lear shows. Are they good? Yes they are. But they are seen too much and people can get sick of seeing them. It would be nice to see some "lesser" known sitcoms from the 70s instead of the same overplayed Norman Lear stuff
