In the music world today i've noticed that this year seems to be a big year for R&B and rap music and it seems to me that R&B and rap music are the top genres for music today. Take for instance I have seen new rap and R&B artists being introduced to the world and some of the popular R&B artists are now rereleasing their classic albums or making a comeback with new albums. Toni Braxton for example has rereleased her self titled album from 1993 with a two cd anniversary edition with the second cd being remixes. Another artist that has made a comeback is Johnny Gill with his new cd and singer Babyface has a new album as well and it's a surprise that R&B is a hit genre for music than pop or country. Also I've seen the same thing has happened with rap music with Nicki Minaj being a top female rap artist and with a deal with Kmart stores with her own clothing and handbag line it appears that Nicki Minaj has made a huge mark in rap music. I remember when Will Smith and MC Hammer came out and became big stars in rap music but now with rap music more bigger than ever there is a bunch of new rap stars making their mark in the world. Another thing I noticed about R&B music now is that in today's R&B music when new singers make their debut you'll never find another Whitney Houston or another Aretha Franklin or in male singers another James Brown and then the singers release one album then never release another album ever again and I can't figure out this fact about R&B singers and the same exact thing with rap music too. I have been a fan of both rap and R&B music and i'm surprised that rap music and R&B music are so big genres this year
