This is crazy. At least air all 156 episodes before pulling it!

Nothing against the Brady Bunch ,but they have that on 4 eps on Sunday already . How cool would it be to replace the Brady Bunch weekday spot at 7AM with The Lucy show, and have I love Lucy at 6:30?:) Lucy back to back! ;)

When I saw The Lucy Show at Christmas, I actually wasn't too impressed with it but maybe it's because it was that episode. It was B&W.

That is an excellent suggestion  :)

Is there anyway we could let METV in on this suggestion? Like if enough people Email them would they listen? ;) I also wish they would bring back Family Affair and My Three sons! And at a reasonable hour ,not like 4 in the morning or something!

I tended to like the newer color eps of The Lucy show better than the B&W ones ! ;)

I have the DVD's so for me it doesn't matter, I can watch the show anytime.

But for others, hopefully this is just a temporary break from the schedule and The Lucy Show will return again soon.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone has their preference I guess, but if I was head of programming at MeTv, shows like The Brady Bunch, Saved By the Bell (Egad!), Mama's Family, Gilligan's Island ... those shows would GO BYE-BYE! While I love I Love Lucy, it too, airs everywhere. I would keep The Lucy Show and also add HERE'S LUCY.

I was thinking about Here's Lucy too! That would be so cool if METV aired it.But Cozi already does! I'd like the three of them back to back! An hour and a half of Lucy on METV, starting with I Love Lucy,The Lucy Show ,Here's Lucy! That would be awesome!! :) ;)

I also always wished METV would show Green Acres!;) Have Petticoat Junction and Green Acres back to back, and than 1 ep.of Beverly Hillbillies ! :) But Antenna already has Green Acres!

They were only airing The Lucy Show as a summer replacement to give I Love Lucy a break for a few months. They never intended to continue airing it in the fall. They did the same thing a few years ago.

I love that episode! It's far superior to the "I Love Lucy" Christmas episode

I've owned season 1 on DVD for a few years but I've never watched it. A couple days ago I decided to put in a disc and watch a few episodes. I have to say that it wasn't what I was expecting....it was much better than I expected. Lucy and Viv are classic no matter what show their in! My only complaint is Chris---she annoys me. I liked it so much I decided to buy all the seasons.

I'm not so sure about that. Here's Lucy had some good episodes here and there, but it was mostly a lot of mediocrity. The early seasons of The Lucy Show are far and away better than Here's Lucy ever was. The I Love Lucy writers were still present during the first few seasons of TLS, and most significantly, Vivian Vance was there. Those are significant elements that are missing from most of HL. And if tlc38tlc38 is bothered by Candy Moore's (Chris) delivery of her lines, I can only imagine the reaction to Lucie Arnaz's delivery on HL!

I've thought about buying the "Here's Lucy" set just because I'm a big Lucy fan but, yeah, I'm not sure if I can deal with all the yelling from Lucie that I've been hearing about.

I was watching The Lucy Show this morning. There was a Chris scene. I didn't find her delivery loud at all. I could be wrong, but it seems to me the only times I've ever heard her deliver her lines loudly is when she's supposed to be upset at Lucy. That said, she never had a prominent role on the show. She was seen mostly during the first season. She appeared less in S2, then hardly at all in S3. And then was written out of the show altogether in S4. Kim, on the other hand, was always major character on Here's Lucy and was there throughout the entire series.

But Here's Lucy had cute Craig! Eye candy for us ladies! ;) And I liked Kim too! I thought she was a sweet girl! :)

I don't remember much about Chris,as I liked the later seasons of The Lucy show better! I liked Mr. Mooney also Harry Carter from Here's Lucy! Gale Gordon was a great actor for Lucy's shows! ;)

You do realize you're in a minority opinion on that, right? There is a pretty strong consensus that The Lucy Show was at its very best during the early years with Vivian Vance. Gale Gordon was also in the cast in the early years, except for the first season. When the show first began, Desi Arnaz was the executive producer, and the I Love Lucy writers were on board (Madelyn Davis, Bob Carroll, Bob Schiller, Bob Weiskopf). With each departure -- Desi first, then the I Love Lucy writers, and finally Vivian Vance -- the quality suffered a bit. The biggest blow was when Vivian Vance left. She was the perfect counterbalance to Lucille Ball, and hilarious in her own right. When it was just Lucille Ball and some guest-star-of-the-week, the chemistry and relatability of the characters just wasn't there. And these later Lucy writers resorted to gags and improbable scenarios, as opposed to Bob and Madelyn, who wrote about human stories and relationships. The physical comedy sprung out of realistic, relatable situations. This is not to say that there weren't funny moments in the later years of the series, but the consistent level of quality wasn't there the way it was before. And it began to feel more like sketch comedy than a situation comedy.

I am very unhappy The Lucy Show is leaving METV next week. I have never seen them before and wanted to watch then all. I DVR then but am so happy to watch them I stay up and watch them before going to bed. Early this year I had finished watching all the Here's Lucy's from Cozi-TV and was very happy when Me-TV started airing The Lucy Show. I also like The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy better than I Love Lucy. I also like that they are in color. I will find a way to continue watching The Lucy Show without ME-TV.

If anyone really likes the Lucy Show that much the solution is simple. BUY the DVDs already. Buy the DVDs and you can watch uncut restored versions of every episode ANYTIME you want.

I realize this idea is unheard of to people who seem to think the only way to watch TV is to watch it live on broadcast or cable stations. The news is the world of DVDs solves all your problems and gives you better uncut versions (not to mention commercial free) of your favorite shows ANYTIME you're ready to watch. I can not understand why people are still only relying on what vintage broadcast TV stations are showing and if they don't show what they like they just pout and figure they're out of luck. NEWSFLASH, this isn't 1972, you can now buy your own copies of the shows you like. VCR's solved this problem long ago and today DVD players/recorders continue to solve the present day problem. Why don't these people ever consider getting the DVDs.

For just a small single example, to this day I still watch My 3 Sons thanks solely and only to DVDs. If I relied on any TV station's current broadcast schedule to watch My 3 Sons I'd still be waiting (literally perhaps decades) to watch my favorite shows. Wake up and buy the DVDs already and stop relying on a TV station that could literally care less what you want to watch and when you want to watch it.

DVDs and tapes solved this problem that I constantly read people complaining about here way back in 1995. Back then it was tapes, thanks to them I watched what I liked when I liked it. And if a station took off my favorite old show, I didn't care I had the tapes that I could watch for as long as I like. Having tapes of Hazel allowed me to watch that show continuously for almost 2 decades before Antenna TV finally brought it back. Thank goodness I didn't rely on what a TV station is showing to watch my favorite show or it would have been a decades long wait. Wake up, if you like a show buy it and have it forever more.

To the above poster you come across as someone who is very frustrated. For me I will watch them online. Buying DVD's is an idea but it costs money that I do not want to spend. I do not like spending money on entertainment when I need the money for more important things like food and rent or saving for retirement. Plus I only want to watch one time and the DVD's would just be taking up space. When I DVR the programs I skip the commercials.

Plus I did not know The Lucy Show was something I wanted to watch until I saw it on METV. If I bought every show on DVD that I wanted I would spend a lot of money that I do not have. This reminds me of the argument I hear from people who say they can no longer listen to classical music because it is only on HD radio now. Buy an HD radio than, what is so hard about that but most people do not want to buy an HD radio. I do not understand that. So we all have our priorities and what we believe is important to spend money on.
