My cat Romeo isn't drinking water like normal. He usually drinks a lot of water. There is a lot going on here and he doesn't understand. I have a lot of stress right now. I can just imagine what his stress level is because he doesn't understand what is going on. I have been trying to comfort and reassure him. With temperatures near 100 and feel like temps above 100 degrees, I don't want him to get dehydrated. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

You may want to try taking your cat out for fresh air. It helps clear my mind so why couldn't it clear a cats mind?

Poor Romeo. Sorry to hear he seems upset! I would take him to the vet.The not drinking water could really cause him to be ill! He might have something physically wrong and that is why he's acting stressed and not drinking water ! But taking him to the vet right away,he should end up being fine! If the vet rules out anything wrong and he is just stressed. Hold him and pet him, talk to him more than usual.I know you love cats and already show him lots of love. But do it even more, any free moment you have devote to petting and having him on your lap, etc.

Prayers for Romeo!

Thanks both of you. Moving is stressful and there's no way for me to explain to him that it's going to be ok. I'm giving him attention, but yes, I think he needs more attention right now.

Oh I didn't know you were moving! That is why,he isn't use to all the chaos and confusion of moving, and new surroundings! I'm sure he will be fine, once things get settled! ;)

I agree. When I moved, my dog was frantic. All he did was mope around and didn't act like himself at all. Once we finished getting settled into the new place, he bounced right back to his normal self again.

Thanks everyone.

I think Romeo is doing better. He lost a pound. He is 16 pounds. For the longest time he averaged 17.0-17.8 pounds. I'm not sure if the stress is what caused him to lose the weight. I was a little surprised when he weighed in at 16.0 pounds. I know that'a little better weight. If there is any drastic weight loss though, I'll be worried then.
