Because Helen Hunt is my favorite actress and because she was born in 1963, I think of her whenever I hear mention of that year. I would say that the most obvious thing that happened that year is that President Kennedy was assassinated. I have written about that reality a while back. There are also a bunch of other things that happened that year that some people would find interesting. Throughout my time on this board, I have written about several of them. Whenever I hear of anything that happened that year, I measure that event against the birth of Helen Hunt. One thing that some of you might be interested in that happened in 1963 is that Lisa Kudrow who played a marginal role in this series was also born. I am almost as fond of her as I am on Helen Hunt! Well, last night, I happened to be thinking about the child's game called Mousetrap. In case anyone is interested, there are a lot of videos about it over on You Tube. One thing that I have very vivid memories of is when the top of the trap falls over the plastic mouse, the four children sitting around the table all call out "Mousetrap"! Well, last night, want of Something more interesting to do caused me to look it up on the Internet. I learned that it was first created in 1963! Go figure! I do not think that anyone in my family ever had this game, but I would, very often see the commercial on TV. Games from this era that we did have included Operation, Battling Tops and Ants in Your Pants. One game that I remember being played on "Mad About You" is Monopoly. My brother had this game. This game, however, was first created during the depressions, but it was still going strong during the time when all of these other game were popular!

Maybe off topic, but on topic of the year 1963.
Because of DJ Jazzy Jeff being my favorite DJ and the song:
Parents Just Don't Understand,& the lyrics in the song ''My mother buying me
clothes from 1963,I think of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince whenever I hear mention of that year. 1963 was a bad year for fashion. I am startled to find out
that Mousetrap did not make the top 76 games off all time. It was fun to put together and play, but more fun to put together. Operation barely made the top 76,also a fun game.

Thank you very much for those interesting facts. Also, another thing that I touched on in my initial post was that Lisa Kudrow was born in 1963 too. Just in case you are interested, I recently posted a thread regarding her over on the "Friends" page of this site. It is presently at the top of the page and it is called "A Friends Reunion". Hope to see you there!
