In the season 2 episode "Roper's Car" we learn that Mr. Roper owns a 1958 Chevy that is in bad condition. I was watching "Jack's Other Mother" in season 5 today, and Larry says to Jack, "You look as shaky as that '58 Chevy I sold yesterday." Do you think that was a coincidence or a little wink to the Ropers?
Also, a little side-note....at the IMDB database Three's Company page, someone lists the Ropers' car as a 1956 DeSoto Firelite? So not a Chevy?
I think the line in "Jack's Other Mother" was just a coincidence. I never heard anything about the Ropers' Car being a DeSoto. Did they ever mention what car Roper drove in "The Ropers"?

I'm not sure if they mentioned what car they drove in the Ropers, but I assumed it was the same old car they always had. The first scene of The Ropers is them pulling up to the curb in an old heap.
I found this old thread on a car forum where they discuss the car in The Ropers as a DeSoto (with pics). http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=43188

You would have thought they could have found a '58 Chevy, but continuity was never important in the Three's Company universe as we all know.

Yeah, you can say that again. Then there were weird little things that kept appearing, like chocolate mousse, that made it seem like the writers were having a laugh. Who knows.
