IMO, the gang seemed more relaxed and natural when they were in Europe with Ricky's band. When they were in California, Lucy was always trying to impress celebrities and her personality seemed unnatural in a lot of ways. I prefer the European episodes.

I liked when they were in France, when Lucy couldn't explain her winnings from reluctant gambling.

Yes, I loved when all of the kids sang "Happy Birthday" (in Italian) to little Ricky over the phone.

Yeah, and all the kids fibbing that it was their Birthday too! And a little girl started crying , she was the only one telling the truth and it really WAS her birthday! :)

Yes, and because it was her birthday, all the kids got the presents from Lucy. It really was a happy day for everyone. The kids were all precious, and Lucy was so sweet and kind in that episode.... one of my favorites!

I also liked the one where they were riding bikes over the border into another country and Lucy didn't have her passport with her!

HaHaHa! Lucy had to stay in Italy while everyone else was allowed to cross into France. I liked when Lucy tried to pretend she was one of the bicycle racers so she could fake her way in. LOL!

"You can't get in without a passport."!

The episode when they were trapped in the snowy mountains of the Swiss Alps was also good. I liked when they were all fighting over the last sandwich!

IMO, New York episodes were much better than Connecticut episodes.

An ep. in Connecticut that was really funny was Ricky and Fred built a BBQ, Lucy lost her wedding ring and thought it might be in the BBQ, so her and Ethel took it apart and rebuilt it!!! Ricky's reaction was Hilarious when he saw the 'rebuilt" BBQ!

If there's anything that almost all I Love Lucy fans agree on it's that the Connecticut episodes were the worst.

I like both the European episodes and the Hollywood episodes including the cross country traveling episodes but so many of the absolute best scenes such as Harpo Marx, William Holden, John Wayne and Bob Hope were in Hollywood I have to go with that.

I like the ep where they were driving to California and stopped at a really rundown restaurant/hotel for the night!

That's one of my favorite episodes! I love that old guy. 80¢ entertainment tax! How Ethel ties Fred into the bed with the sagging mattress. "You do that every night?" "Yeah, but it took years of practice." Then the train comes through. At the end they sneak out and try to get away without paying and the old man removes their steering wheel and holds it for ransom.

OH Nuts!

I have to confess: it's a tie for me. Both have hilarious scenes. What a comedic genius that Lucy.

I do like the European episodes better than the California episodes. I think California episodes went way too long. I also really like the Connecticut episodes. The chicken episodes are some of my favorites from the whole series. Love the bbq one also.

I had to go with the European episodes, although there are truly hilarious scenes in both story arcs. In Europe it seemed they were in a different city/setting practically every episode so it was neat to see all the new sets and stories that went with it!
One of my favorite scenes was the "human translator chain" after Lucy got in trouble with the police in Italy, a true classic!

Cali was the best for me, the eps leading up to the trip, the trip itself, and the actual Cali episodes.

Guess I'm not in the group of almost all. I enjoy the Connecticut episodes. The barbecue episode, the eggs episodes, the one with Barbara Eden, those are as good as the previous ones.

California was my favorite. But Europe was good too. Connecticut was my least favorite too. Even though the storylines were still good, I just didn't like that new setting. My absolute favorites were in the first apartment in New York in Seasons 1 and 2.

Although I really liked all the I love Lucy locations, there was something very special about the seasons in the New York brownstone , esp. the first , smaller apt. It was so cozy and quaint! It really set the mood for the show!! :) ;)

Never understood why the majority of people hated the Connecticut episodes. If anything, some of the funniest episodes came from the Connecticut episodes

I much prefer the California episodes, which is strange because I generally hate celebrity-centered shows. I think I like the Cal shows because the premise was credible (Ricky was supposed to make a movie) and because the writing was so clever and believable. In later years, I grew to hate any shows that brought stars in(Tallulah Bankhead just happens to move next door, Bob Hope comes to the Tropicana, etc). They were usually poorly written, and just excuses to put on one of those lame shows , with amateurish singing and dancing.
