Please forgive me if this was covered before...
Could someone explain to me why the first episodes of the series, Bernadette Stanis was listed as Bern-Nadette?
Was it a font-size mistake, or that was previously her stage name and she changed it to include her full name?
It's annoying lol

It WAS weird that the opening credits read "Bernadette Stanis," and other times it read "Bern Nadette Stanis." The only time I remember a first name being(slightly) changed is Full House when Michelle who was played by twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Full House credits read like Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen, so naturally, most people assumed that Michelle was played by one actress, Mary-Kate was her first name and Ashley was her middle name, and later it was changed to Mary-Kate AND Ashley Olsen to show that two actresses portrayed Michelle. It is possible that when Bernadette said her name, it sounded like "Bern Nadette," or vice versa so they wrote it like that.

It was rather strange, but perhaps she was just playing with name variations. It's not unknown among actresses who marry and add their married name (Meredith Baxter to Meredith Baxter-Birney and back again; Roseanne Barr to Roseanne Arnold to Roseanne). Jackee Harry became Jackee when she thought she deserved one-name status. For a male example, Siddig El Fadil of "ST: DS9" anglicized his stage name to Alexander Siddig.

Jackee Harris thinking she deserved one name status! Lord have mercy!  She is funny, but definitely did not deserve one name status. Someone once said something like, "Stars have two names. Legends have only one." Jackee is usually a supporting actress not even a leading lady. :D

I wonder how Miss Stanis would have fared on the show had she been billed by her original name Bernadette Stanislaus?
I also wonder if she and Barbara Eden ever got together to share a certain secret because both ladies look virtually EXACTLY the same as they did when their shows started airing!

True; I think she went back to two names when on "Sister, Sister." She had a momentary lapse of bigger than her britches...no offense to her, cuz I loved Soooooooooondra!:)

I always hated JJ's "Thelma is ugly" jokes. I know they were supposed to be based on jealousy and/or general sibling rivalry, but dang, however she wants to spell her name, Bernadette was so beautiful on "Good Times!"

JJ and Thelma were like the teenage version (character wise) of Fred Sanford and Aunt Esther. Their insults were awesome and hilarious.
I have watched a couple of Good Times episodes the last few days on YouTube and really forgot how well made and FUNNY the show was.

One of my first crushes, and she's still beautiful. I just found out today reading an old Jet Magazine, she once dated Peabo Bryson in the late 70s. He's a fool for letting her go!
