In one episodes dirty girl reveals she has a cat and then frasier reveals he is alergic and dirty girl actually moved the cat far away from them to alleviate his symptoms. But then in another episode he is taking care of someones cat and he makes a vegtable soup. I don't remember if he holds the cat or not but he certainly isn't sneezing in this episode. Do you guys think it's possible he took allergy medicine or something? Or is such a allergy bad enough that someone with it wouldn't keep a cat at all and this is a unrealistic portrayal? I don't know how long he wound up keeping the cat tho.

How funny, I never thought about that. I LOVED that episode where he takes care of Mr. Bottomsly, though. That was absolutely hilaroius! I'm sure it was just an oversight on the writer's part. They don't realize that avid viewers like us are going to remember things like that and therefore the continuity is altered a bit. Good call, though! I need to watch that "Dirty Girl" episode again.

This was a screw-up on the part of the writers. I remember Frasier being allergic to cats in the great episodes with Kate "Dirty Girl" Costas (Mercedes Ruehl).

However, in S11 he's clearly seen buying cat food & taking care of a cat - and does not sneeze at all.
