I was informed today that the ending of Part 2 of the Big Move actually has a flashback to James before Florida slams the punch bowl. I had never ever seen this before.

Is this confirmed?
It almost looks like something a fan created.
Wouldn't they also include a quick clip of him with the family?

It says unaired in the clip.
They should've aired it this way though..and added a few more scenes

John Amos was always the best actor on Good Times. I thought his portrayal as James Evans was brilliant. I hated to see him go, and the show was never as good without him.

I don't think this was the original ending, aired or unaired, unless you not referring to the music. That song was written in the early 90s. But its very emotional to watch.

Yeah, that definitely doesn't sound like any music that could've ever been on Good Times.

Seeing footage of James before crashing that bowl was way too emotional! No wonder CBS cut that!

It was a fan created one as no source has admitted this scene took place and the show did not use this type of music.

Now, there are rumors of eliminated dialogue of Florida explaining about Carl's fate. The alleged dialogue centered around Florida talking to Michael about Carl and she stated 'sadly, he passed away after a good fight.'

That's definitely a fan edit, they didn't do incidental music like that in shows of the time. Nor flashbacks. The final clip scene before returning to her smashing the bowl is also too clipped, scenes tend to be storyboarded and edited with proper timing.

It's still a nice touch, actually - a lot of people do take the original scene out of context and make crass jokes about "damn damn damn" (and Rolle's performance, which was sublime, is overlooked just for the sake of a joke) - seeing imposed flashback clips and piano music do help re-sell the original intent of a character's angst over such a major loss was still done in good faith by the fan who made the edit.

Definitely better than the actual ending. lol
