Yeah Jack didn't always think things through.

Yeah, that's what I said on the thread about Jack's Navy Pal. We know that Santa Monica has its own police department---we saw it in "Days of Beer and Weeds." (Of course, in that episode, Chrissy and Jack went to the police for something they COULD have taken care of themselves. Go figure.)

Had Jack called the police when Max was threating him, then we would not have had the Larry coffin scenes and Jack's funeral.
It's because there would have been no rest of the episode.

Something similar happened in the episode when Jack thought a nun was in love with him. All he had to do was ask Terri. Of course if the nun was really in love with him, Terri would have said something.
But then the episode would have ended before the commercial break.

In Jack's navy pal, the difference there is that the assault didn't happen until the 2nd half of the episode. It wasn't the whole episode that Jack was being threatened. So this one is a bigger mystery to me.

Something else just occurred to me.

The Max threating episode came after Jack met Chrissy' cousin (the one who forgot his handcuffs). Maybe he was afraid he would answer the call.

Of course, I'm kidding here.

Don't you think we already know that? It was a silly question in regards to the episode

Yeah, most of the misunderstandings on Three's Company are things that could have been cleared up with two questions.

We don't think about it because the episode is usually funny enough for us to forget "just talk to so-and-so and figure it out," but Jack's Navy Pal is not that funny. So I spend the episode wondering why they don't just call the cops and take care of the creep, already.

Dying To Meet You was funnier. Although not calling police seems like a plot hole, I didn't care as much because I wanted to see what happened.
