Maybe this is a good sign that "Step by Step" and "Perfect Strangers" is soon to follow....we can only hope!

This is a MOD release from Warner Archive so the odds of a complete series set being released is zero. I'm sure all 5 seasons will eventually be released in a timely matter.

Well I will wait for all 5, not getting caught like that again with a show on DVD with one season being released and no more lol

^I've never understood the logic behind this method. Isn't it better to own some of the show on DVD than nothing at all?

Some people are completists and want to watch the show straight through- otherwise, I don't know why you would wait. I was expecting more Shout! Factory to release a complete series of this, but WAC was pretty fast with the seasons of Growing Pains and Family Matters, so maybe they'll be fast with completing Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. I will buy this, but it may be awhile. I have other shows I want more than this.

And I also really, really want "Alice" completed.

I loved the first season as a kid...thought it was hilarious. Dunno if I'll buy the DVD, but I would be curious to see how well it holds up 25 years later.

I thought the show got much weaker when it went to Friday nights. The innuendos were eliminated to make it a family-friendly TGIF sitcom, and it became corny.

I'm a completist as well so I won't buy any until I see they release the entire series or seem close to it.

Yeah I think it came on Tuesday night the first season. And I kind if looked up to Mark Curry in that teacher role because I don;t think there had ever been a black teacher on a sitcom before so it was new to me

That's what lead to the steve harvey show a few years later

YES!!! Glad to see this forgotten series is coming out! We have to buy the seasons if we want to see more releases. Lack of sales is why we seen many like 227 and others get shelved

It did come on Tuesdays during the 1992-1993 season after Full House. It was supposed to be a black version of Three's Company with Cooper, Holly Robinson and Dawn Lewis. Then, it was moved to Fridays for the TGIF block in Fall 1993.

The series made many changes over the past couple of years it aired. Nell Carter joined as an administrator and then left as well. It was geared more towards kids and families for the remaining 4 seasons. In the first season, it was more for adults.

I can't wait to see if the original theme song with En Vogue is included or if they used the seasons 3-5 theme song.

Wrong: there were many black teachers in sitcoms, take Room 222, for example. It was a sitcom about black teachers.

I also hope "Kirk: The Complete Series" and "Valerie/The Hogan Family" are next...with "Mr. Cooper" on DVD now...it's highly possible!

Once I receive my copy, I'll try to quickly watch it and give a short review with episode run times and pics of the DVD case and DVDs.

I'll also use the music guide in this thread to see if any music has been changed.

I'm SO looking forward for Hangin with Mr. Cooper season 1 and happy to be FINALLY released on DVD though. Now that they need more seasons to work way up on DVD in future..

Still awaiting for Step by Step and Perfect Strangers to be on DVD as it's been WAY SO LONG!

I'll check for episode run times and for music edits later on. I'll also post pictures of the box and disc art along with a shot of the main menu on Sunday.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I'm guessing the DVD menus don't have any music like most MODs?

^No music on DVD menu.

I'm glad, I hate music on the menus. When I fall asleep and the episodes end, that dang music always wakes me up. I much prefer when the menus don't have music.

I'll be posting a few pictures of the set tomorrow.

With the recent announcements of season 2 sets of "What I Like About You" and "The Jamie Foxx Show", does this mean that Warner Archive had given up on "HWMC"? I hope not.

Can someone please ask WB on their facebook about season 2?

Is the rest of this show available yet? I used to go to that website named TV Shows On DVD to find out when show seasons were to be released, but of course that website is no more.

God bless you always!!!

All seasons are available on amazon for download. Not sure how long they’ve been there but maybe this is a good sign of more DVD releases.
