Laughable.

I think it's more sad than laughable. These nominations clearly show that viewers are shifting away from mainstream programs and are starting to think outside the TV box. For the first time in history, the former Big 4 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) are no longer relevant. This is shown most clearly in the sitcom and drama categories, the ones that tend to draw the most attention. It seems that Modern Family and Black-ish are the only comedy series that the voters have deemed to be of a high quality to deserve getting multiple nominations, (3 for Black-ish, 2 for Modern Family), while The Big Bang Theory, the highest rated sitcom in North America, gets totally shut out, which I don't get at all. All other sitcoms get 3 nominations between them, all in the acting categories. Even more stunning, only two series get recognized in the Drama section, both featured in the Lead Actress category. Everything else is between cable networks such as HBO, AMC and Showtime, or web series from Netflix and Amazon (but not Hulu, strangely enough.) This is a clear message to the main networks from the voters and the viewers that it is time for them to up their game and soon or it could be game over for them. From what I've read and seen about their new fall lineups, it looks like they don't appear to be listening.

One of the most powerful cable channels in the US is already heading in that direction and it is likely that others could follow. WGN TV in Chicago announced earlier this spring that they will be giving up their affiliation with CW and become an independent station as of Sept. 1. Since WGN is also connected with Antenna TV, it's possible that a few of their shows might make their way to their lineup, at least that's what I'm praying for. I'm not sure yet if anyone else will be making the same move. I have heard that WOR in New York could be next but I'm not positive about it. What this means is that even I may have to look beyond the mainstream to see what other good sitcoms may be out there that can be seen for free in Canada. For starters, I might check out "Grace and Frankie" and "Kimmy Schmidt" and then go from there.

The show "Mom" was screwed with the exception of Allison Janney. Not only should it be nominated for Best Sitcom, it should win hands down. Anna Faris should have been nominated best lead actress of the show. "Mom" should be raining down with trophies.

Is Transparent a comedy? It is a drama. Whoever thought this show is a comedy is an idiot. But give the lead actor award to Jeffrey Tambor because he is awesome who can play anything well. Either him or William H. Macy, the lead of Shameless.....yet another show which isnt a comedy, (more of a soap opera like drama show with some comedic elements).

I for one love the selections there is on television and to be more or less allowed to watch a show on one's schedule. America has over 320 million people, so there should be more than four networks. Sort of amazing somewhat of how little of these shows I have seen or have much desire to see. Everyone now has their niche and what they like.

Unreal is actually a pretty good show (I hate reality shows and it kind of makes them look bad). Surprised Orange Is The New Black isn't nominated. I was hoping the Goldbergs would get a nomination.

I also love Unreal. I'm glad the show got *some* love, although I believe the other female lead should have also been nominated.

I LOVED The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. I was riveted from episode one. I'm glad it is getting the attention I feel it deserves. Sarah Paulson, Courtney B Vance, and David Schwimmer should all win their categories.

I'm glad that The People vs. OJ Simpson won since it's one of those rare nominated programs that I watched, the rest is just crap to me.
