Interestingly, Blizzard Of Ozz was in fact going to be the name of Ozzy's new band after he left Black Sabbath. But it became the name of his first solo album. It made sense that he would try to make an actual band, and he did in fact quite the lineup with Randy Rhoads. But when Sharon (Arden, before they married) decided to oust Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, it pretty much became a revolving door line up with Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldrich.
Of course, sadly, Randy Rhoads died while on tour for the "Diary Of a Madman" album in 1982.

But Ozzy always had the ear for good guitar players. Jake E. Lee was a local favorite in the L.A. scene, but he was overshadowed by the legacy of Randy Rhoads in spite of Lee's very decent playing abilities.

Zakk Wylde was the one guitarist who came close to matching Rhoads' skill.
