by Kaitlin Thomas
July 6, 2016
ABC has passed on a second season of its summer comedy "Uncle Buck". Series star James Lesure announced the disappointing news Wednesday via Twitter.
"Disappointed. No more @ABCUncleBuck. Cancelled.Thankful to have worked with @ABCNetwork.Proud of what we've done. Thx 4 let us entertain u."
The comedy series, a remake of the 1989 John Hughes film of the same name, featured an all African-American cast led by Lesure, Mike Epps (as the titular ne'er-do-well) and Nia Long.
Although it was not a massive hit in the ratings, the series, which was good but not great, was averaging a 1.0 in the 18-to-40 demographic.
