Starting in the 80s mostly I have seen some very good movies from the 80s and before fall victim to GREED to put it bluntly and the music in them was changed to crap instead of what was there..... Ill list a couple....

Others feel free to add!

1) Somewhere in time (1980)

Beautiful movie... MUSIC CHANGED SOMETIME IN THE 80s! (Garbage music replaced the music that made the movie GOOD)

2) Where the buffalo roam (1980)

BEAUTIFUL MOVIE - MUSIC CHANGED SOMETIME IN THE 80s! (Garbage music replaced the music that made the movie GOOD)

Soundtracks are part of the film, and I am not even going to go into how many films are made BETTER by a well thought out soundtrack. I commend those like ME who want to see the movie AS INTENDED (With its original music)

Ya take the music out and ya mine as well take out the actors also!!!!!

Its sad people who "dont care about the music" in a movie, its truly very sad......

I tell ya the 80s were the start of the end :(

Watch out for the dreaded some "SOME MUSIC RESCORED" disclaimer that appeared on the back of MCA Home Video releases.

Other examples of replaced music on film:

Nighthawks: Brown Sugar and I'm a Man replaced; early VHS releases kept them.

Little Darlings: John Lennon song Oh, My Love replaced; early VHS releases kept them.

House Calls: Beatles song Something replaced, TV airings (cut and uncut) kept it.

Wayne's World 1 & 2: Some songs were replaced after their original showings in theaters, most notably, Stairway to Heaven.

For Somewhere in Time, the MCA Videocassette release or laserdisc and the MCA Home Video release of Where the Buffalo Roam, should be your best bets for the original music to both films.

The movie is perfectly fine, only one song was changed. The writing, and the performances is what makes Vacation a classic, not a song.
