"Preacher" Renewed at AMC for 2nd Season

AMC has renewed its praised supernatural drama series "Preacher" for an expanded 13-episode second season, for premiere in 2017.

The Sony Pictures Television-AMC Studios co-production is the #2 new series on cable this year among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, and is currently averaging 3.3 million viewers per episode, including 1.9 million adults 25-54, in Live+3, according to Nielsen stats.



“‘Preacher’ is a special television program and we’re eager to share with fans the rest of this wild first season and, now, an expanded second season,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios.

“What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’ graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”





Developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and showrunner Sam Catlin, "Preacher" is based on the popular cult comic book franchise. The supernatural and darkly comedic drama follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, played by Dominic Cooper, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis that gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands.

Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angels, Fiore (Tom Brooke) and DeBlanc (Anatol Yusef), Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Derek Wilson and Ian Colletti also star.

AMC Renews "Preacher" for Season 3

The road trip from Hell will continue. More than a month after the season 2 finale, AMC has ordered a third season of "Preacher", which will debut in 2018.

Executive producer Seth Rogen announced the news on Twitter, "Season 3!!!! #Preacher"

"Preacher" Renewed for Season 4 at AMC

Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy will be back for a fourth go-round. AMC Networks has renewed drama series "Preacher", from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, for a fourth season.

The series will begin production on Season 4 in Australia early next year.




“Preacher is a show unlike any other on television,” said David Madden, President – Programming, Entertainment Networks, AMC Networks.

“A passionate base of fans found their way to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy and have followed along with their adventures, at times indescribable adventures, for three seasons. We are thankful to our partners at Sony and to Seth, Evan and Sam for everything they have brought to this series, which we are pleased to renew for a fourth season. Like the superfans of Preacher, we can’t wait to see where this journey leads next.”

"Preacher" To End after Season 4 on AMC

AMC’s "Preacher" will end with Season 4.

Seth Rogen revealed the cancellation on social media with a thank you note to fans. “The fourth and final season of Preacher is coming. It’s been a wild ride. Thank you all,” Rogen wrote.
