Over on the "Three's Company" page, someone recently started a thread that is generating a lot of conversation. One of the replies to this thread has given me an interesting idea of something to write about here. Those of you who do not watch "Three's Company" will have to improvise in your minds who and what I am on about. Someone wrote about liking the character of Cindy but thinking that she worked best in small doses. This poster went on to write about episodes in which she had very small parts that were done quite well. Another poster responded to this response offering agreement about her not working as a main character. Well, earlier today, I posted a thread on this page that had to do with actress Hazel Shermet. I concentrated on her role in the first-season episode the "Emergency". In this episode she was simply used for comic relief to a rather serious situation. Her screen time was about two minutes. The two other episodes in which she appeared were "Mom's Birthday" and "Nell Goes Door to Door". These were also situations in which her part was quite marginal. I also remember her in two episodes of the "Facts of Life". In these episodes, she had more screen time than she did in "Gimme a Break!" but her character still had little to do with the main plot of the episode. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who thinks that she, as an actress, works best in small doses.

Thank you very much for getting back to me. Do you care to tell us what exactly you like about Hazel? Have you seen any other shows or movies besides "Gimme a Break!" in which she appeared?

Over a month ago, I started a thread called "Goodbye Dear Hazel". In this thread, I mentioned the passing of Hazel Shermet who made three appearances on Gimme a Break!". I asked other posters to share their memories of her and tell us what about her they liked. This thread generated a little bit of conversation for a while, but, like anything else, the novelty wore off. I have decided to bring this thread to the top of the page to see if other people would like to revisit the topic of the person that Hazel Shermet was. I am doing this mainly because all of the pages of this site that I frequent are quite slow at the moment and I am trying hard to think of something that some people might want to communicate about.
