Shortly after I became a member of this community, there was a female poster that I would correspond with pretty regularly. We lost contact quite a while ago, and I have not seen anything by her in quite some time. It was on this page that I first met her. We would send each other messages regarding our ideas about "Gimme a Break!" and about life in general. We would offer each other ideas about the morals and ethics and what we agreed or disagreed with regarding various episodes. One interesting idea that she gave me was that, according to her observations, bit-part actress Hazel Shermet tended to play slapstick. At least on this show. We talked about the situation in which she went charging after her purse in the "Emergency". One question that I proposed to her was whether she thought that having to run after her purse after Nell hung it on a gurney served her right for hogging the pay phone, referring to Nell as "some pushy woman" and thinking that she was so hotsy totsy. My friend's response went as follows: "yes I think that, in the 'Emergency' for Hazel Shermet's character to be made to chase down her her purse after Nell placed it on a gurney pole served her right for carrying on a meaningless conversation with her friend when Nell had to make an emergency call home." I found this reply to be very well thought-out. Wherever this poster is, I would really like to salute her!
