Wondering why the mom was not seen in the two episodes that featured the Housekeeper in season 4?

Yes, in 1984 during the first half of Season 3 Meredith Baxter Birney was pregnant in real life with twins. There are a handful of episodes she's not in. Also, a few she is only in for a minute or two, example, "Don't Kiss Me, I'm Only The Messenger." She's only in the very beginning of that episode.

Yeah. It was in Season 3 she was pregnant in real life so she missed seven episodes in that season. They kind of scattered her absences so they wouldn't be all together at once. I've been watching my DVDs and I started at the beginning in April and I just finished Season 4 last week. I'm taking a break for the summer to do other things and see the political conventions and the olympics. I plan to pick up with Season 5 in late August.

Wow its hard to think, the twins she had are age 31 today. I wonder what they are doing.
