How many shows do you know of that have indicated their lead players without using the word "Starring"?

Here are two I know of: Mannix ("Mike Connors is"), and Taxi ("Judd Hirsch in") (captured from the second-season [1968-69] release of Mannix, and the first-season [1978-79] release of Taxi).

"Robert Young as" (Marcus Welby, M.D.), and "Bob Newhart in" (The Bob Newhart Show) (like the first two, captured from DVD releases of those shows)

The Friends cast all have starring roles and are in alphabetical order so there is no "In" or "With" in the credits.

Now in the Final season of Full House, the Olsen twins got a special credit when before they were just part of the regular cast. "with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle".

Robert Wagner was credited without "starring" in two of his shows (examples captured from DVDs)

--"Robert Wagner in" (It Takes A Thief, from the first season in 1968 of that ABC espionage series)

--Also on Hart to Hart, which simply used his name (no "in" or "starring")

Also...Mary Tyler Moore never said "Starring" MTM. It was just her name during the intro/title screen, in the multicolored rows.

New-style Hawaii Five-0 does not say "Starring" for Alex O'Loughlin, unlike original-recipe Five-O w/Jack Lord.

Also, Dallas and Knots Landing had all of their players alphabetically, with no indicators of leads.

Wonder Woman: in the first-season opening (1976-77 on ABC), Lynda Carter was simply billed, without "starring" or "with"; in the second and third ones (1977-79 on CBS), Lynda was billed above-title-- "Lynda Carter in...The New Adventures of Wonder Woman."

But it did say starring in alphabetical order.

But it did say starring in alphabetical order.

Totally forgot! You are absolutely right. The subject was leads who were credited without "starring," so Dallas and KL do not fit the category; in fact, none of the major prime serials of the 80s (not even Dynasty and Falcon Crest) would fit it.

Ironside - the original 1967-75 series w/ the late Raymond Burr.
It says "Raymond Burr is" then the title name Ironside appears.

Major Dad w/ Gerald McRaney
"Gerald McRaney is" then the title name Major Dad appears.
