Well, the Chevy Vega does deserve its (poor) reputation. It was very prone to rust and the engine had a limited life expectancy.

As for the rest of the list, I agree with many of them, too.

We never kept the Vegas long enough to rust. My husband worked for GM so we never kept a car more than a year or two. Back then he bought new cars almost every year. My favorite was our 1976 Monte Carlo. Another was our 1978 Chevy pick-up . I loved to drive that!

Never had any of those. I had a friend that had the original Dodge Aspen and another that had an Oldsmobile diesel. The Aspen wasn't a great car but it lasted him awhile, however the Olds diesel was a disaster. I had another friend that bought a used '81 or '82 Cadillac whose big innovation was a computer controlled engine that switched from 4 to 6 to 8 cylinders for fuel efficiency. Unfortunately the car also stalled every time it came to a stop! That was the worst car I have ever seen and it should definitely be on the list. The dealer eventually took that car back and gave him a different car.

I only had one American car. When Toyotas became good in the mid to late 80's I got a Cressida (great car) and when Lexus became available switched to that and still lease them to this day.
