Moons or satellites orbit a planet, so this would not really be considered a moon. It seems to be in an odd orbit of the sun that mirrors the Earth from about 9 to 24 million miles away and is only about as big as a football field. Probably not far enough for Matt Damon if it were my choice.

Good point. If it also orbits the sun, it is not a natural satellite of the Earth.

It's in what is called ann "orbital resonance", and our other moon has such a resonance as well.

I'd think that if it were an actual satellite of earth, we would have seen it ages ago. Plus would it not affect our tides?
