Until recently, they had not toured in the US for over 7 years, and luckily this time, I was able to get tickets to see them in Chicago. I went to yesterday's concert (there was also a second one for Chicago this evening as well), and although it was a long drive and I wasn't feeling well, I toughed it out so I could see this great band, one that I grew up on and have listened to just about everything they've recorded. The Twilight Sad was the opening act and not too many people cared for them, but when The Cure took the stage, the crowd went wild and really loved it. They played pretty much every hit single of theirs plus some lesser known songs. The only complaint I had (other than me not feeling well) was that they didn't play anything from their Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, and Bloodflowers albums or any of their recent work at this concert, and only lighted touched on other albums like Faith, Pornography and Wild Mood Swings, but I was content with what I saw and heard and would love to see them again someday.
