I think it gets a bad rap. There was some changes, Dwayne with a job in Computers and Rerun at the Used Car Sales and ads. Finally coming back to my hometown in NYC, after leaving for over 15 years, I lost my Mom and Dad soon after coming back, so it's not so strange Raj Mom is gone. I think a lot of stories were fun and the problems they faced. I wasn't the only one as the show lasted as much as the original with most of the original cast. Rare for any show. i liked it wasn't over dramatic like many shows these days with constant social issues, believe it or not, Lotsa people watch sitcoms to feel better and laugh and join with their old buddies for a half hour so before getting back to real life. RIP 'RERUN', "SHIRLEY" and "MOM" Glad it's all on video. :) A few years back I was working as a vendor at a Convention and met the entire surviving cast. It was like old home week. :)

Well it was better than Still The Beaver, AfterMash, and Three's A Crowd!

Exactly, it focused on being funny. It did toss in a few social issues but they were secondary like the neighborhood gang, Roger's father issues and academic dishonesty (season 3) but it wasn't an afterschool special nor preachy, you almost forgot it was in there, it was very subtle.

That's why I enjoyed. It was about everyday life and the serious issues came in second but they were subtle and not in your face.

I liked the show a lot too, and thought of it almost as good as the original show. Fred Berry got greedy with how much money he wanted which killed the show.
Why isn't Ernest Thomas more on television? This and the original show is the only thing I know him to have been in.

He was a regular on Everybody Hates Chris.
