Do you think the show will be picked up for a 2nd season? Doesn't look too promising in my opinion.

THere's no way NBC will give it another season. Cheers and Seinfeld had horrible ratings when they first premiered. It took Cheers about a season and Seinfeld until season 3 to get to where they are revered as the best of 80's/ 90's. I just feel as if the real-time format as well as the fact that it's not a traditional sitcom is why it won't get another go. The show is delightful because of Julia and the fact that it is interesting. but it's only interesting if you like the characters. I so happen to like them. BUT the show is not traditionally funny and that's why it won't come back.

I guess we'll see in a few weeks. If it does come back, the network must really love Julia.

By the way, If she gets nominated for an Emmy, it wouldn't surprise me because she is really good in the role.

Well I see that some tuesdays they got Fraiser, Ellie, Frasier, Ellie! That means its popular. I like how they still have Watching Ellie on after two months. That means it's gonna be on for till the end of the season. Maybe it will just go to end of the season and maybe few a couple of new episodes at the beginning of the next season.

Cheers and Seinfeld ran on Borrowed time to get their seasons running. I think Watching Ellie will do that also because NBC will have a lot of borrowed time for all of it's bombed out shows like UC Undercover, Inside Schwartz, Leap of Faith, and Three Sisters.

While I haven't been too crazy about the show, it does deserve a chance, and a second season.
I would think that NBC would like to save face, considering the amount of money they spent promoting the show, also to disprove the dreaded "Seinfeld Curse" that has befallen the others. If it was given a better time slot, I think NBC could build another strong night of comedy. With Ellie, Frasier and Scrubs.

Iheartmoonlighting stated the show doesn't follow a "traditional format," which could lead to its demise.
I certainly hope not, because the only way for Television to evolve is to stretch twist, or revamp the "traditional format" anyway they can.

Now if someone will help me down from my soapbox, I'll grab some dinner...
