During the sixth season we see a more feminine looking Kraus with a different hairstyle and nicer clothing. I know that was one of the popular styles for the 80s so I wonder if they did that as a way to show that the show was following the latest trends.

Katie also looked better in the later seasons. They seemed to have made her outfits and hair look more feminine as well. That could also be because she was growing up and did not look like a little girl anymore.

Whatever the reasoning was does not matter because both ladies looked great and kept the same rough edges despite their new appearances.
