For everyone who loves food but hates people.

How many of you agree with Ron Swanson's political views? I think of myself as mostly Libertarian and thought the Swanson character was right on in so many ways. He occasionally strayed into Libby goofiness like wanting to slaughter a pig in a public park, or having huge distain for any and all government, or his belief that banks are Ponzi schemes. But I loved it when he intelligently explained to that little girl who wandered into his office with her school lunch or explaining to Leslie that the government's responsibility is not business and that the free market is brutal or wonderful and should stay as it is.

I am excited about Gary Johnson running for President, although Johnson is much more liberal than the fictional Swanson. Though the show occasionally showed the idiocy of some positions (the anarchist/Libby viewpoint) the show was fair and never showed Swanson to be foolish.

Maybe it's not the same line but when Chris Trager and Ben told Swanson and Leslie that the budget of the town had to be cut by 33 percent, Swanson wanted 40 and could he bring a machete and eat pork rinds while it happens. Just exactly 110 percent what I believe in.
