I have been accused, many times over of beating the topic of "Samantha's Protest" into the ground. I plead no contest to this accusation! However, two things that have happened in the recent past that remind me of "Samantha's Protest" are events that I find myself unable to resist telling you guys about! One of these events happened on the "Brady Bunch" page of this very site. Someone posted a message speculating whether Maureen McCormick who played Marcia from that show is part American Indian. This poster mentioned her having certain features that are common in American Indians. In "Samantha's Protest", there was a lot of talk about pollution, respect for the environment and respect for tradition. In among this discussion, it was mentioned how the bowling alley in town was built on an Indian burial ground. The other current event happened over on You Tube. You see, in a bunch of other threads, I have written about how my favorite aspect of "Samantha's Protest" is the secondary plot of Katie getting her bubble burst at the end. The gag was probably used for the sake of comic relief. I look at Katie as someone who had ambition that had no place to go. There were a bunch of other TV shows that had episodes that dealt with people with ambition that had no place to go. One such example is an episode of the "Honeymooners" called the "Hot Dog Stand". This episode was uploaded unto You Tube, but then got taken down. I would like you to know that, three days ago, it got uploaded again! Another episode that had been up there but then got taken down is "Two Men on a Horse". This episodes also had aspects that reminded me of situations on "Gimme a Break!". Only time will tell if this episode ever makes it back to You Tube!
