[WARNING: Spoilers ahead for those not caught up on Arrow season 4.] Arrow has gone through a lot of changes in its four seasons on the air. What began as a one-man show of violent vigilante vengeance has morphed into a team superhero effort, the dangers to one neighborhood in Star City now escalated to the threat of global nuclear destruction. Spin-off shows The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have added more characters and crossover plot twists to the mix, further complicating the original themes of the show. he can say what he wants discounting the fans' opinions on th show, but by and large most people recognize how terrible Seasons 3 and 4 were compared to seasons 1 and 2.

too much pointless side drama, terribly over convoluted plots, weak writing for the main characters - the show just isn't as good as it used to be, and the S4 finale was just ridiculous.

I wasn't a big fan of Damien Darhk, and while I recognize that they had to have a big baddie for the season, I think it took away from the enjoyment of having single episode stories and made the whole season really drag on and seem like it was a whole lot of pointless filler. I think they made a big mistake getting rid of Kaity Lotz and making Katie Cassidy the new Black Canary - she never seemed to fit the role, and killing her off too didn't make it any better.

I like the Felicity character and Emily Bett Rickards is great - when the writing is there for her. I still think it was stupid to cave in to the Ollicity nonsense and put them together; Green Arrow and Black Canary/Oliver Queen and Diana Lance are supposed to be together. I think it took a lot away from Felicity's character and now there is only so much they can do with her now.

My only problem is the lack of standalone episodes. We haven't really had any since the first half of season 3.

Otherwise, I really liked season 4.
