Ok,this is especially for those FT fans and regular viewers who
live in the Pacific Northwest and Cleveland:
Remember the ep.where Jennifer's older boyfriend returns home
and she wants to treat him to a Twi-Night Doubleheader between
the Mariners and Indians and it ends up there are about 32,000
tickets left(gee,can you remember when you could go to a Ms
versus Indians game late and there STILL be plenty of seating?);
remember Alex' line:"A regular battle of the titans!"?
Any ways I was just wondering considering the current records
of the Mariners and Indians over the past several baseball seasons,does that line seem kinda funny in an ironic way to anyone else?

Just a note: It wasn't Jennifer's boyfriend, it was just a friend of her's that she grew up with.

I was just thinking about how this line wouldn't make sense today a couple of days ago. A lot of the stuff in Family Ties is dated such as all the references to Reagan and Bush. In fact the whole premise of the show wouldn't work today.

I'm from Portland, Oregon and use to live in Seattle, so I definitely know what your talking about. The thing I found weird in that episode is when Jennifer called for the tickets she didn't leave any info about herself. You'd think she would have left her address, or name or something. Also I don't think an 11 year old can order tickets, but maybe i'm wrong.

It wasn't dated at the time, the Indians and Mariners were long doormats in the 80's. Remember the Indians used to play in a stadium that held like 80,000 fans!

Jennifer wasn't ordering tickets, she was simply reserving them. Didn't she give her name on the phone?

I like the 80's baseball references like Dave Concepcion.
