Does someone know Region 2 dvds have closed captions?

I found out DVD box set doesn't have, but season 1 & 2 of Region 1 dvds have (based on sitcomsonline.com reviews)

I am going to have to confess that I know virtually nothing about different regions for DVDs. However, I have another reason for responding to your thread. I know the feeling of loneliness that goes with starting a thread and then not getting any replies. This being the case, I have decided to post this reply so you would know that your post was read and that you are in my thoughts.

I would think that closed captioning is individual for each DVD. Different DVD regions cover different countries and different languages and it is based on cost.
