What the what?

Little Mark and his mother having a father who left them and went off and did his own thing like having a stud farm or other odd jobs. Marge was supposed to be "clingy" but how clingy could she have been if she allowed her husband to act like a vagabond and leave them alone like that? I know Mark said in his defense that "we were always welcome to go with him" but the whole concept seems bizarre to me. He spent one whole year on a fishing boat! His wife Marge was a saint to put up with that kind of instability.

Seems kind of selfish to me to do that to his wife and especially to his vulnerable young child just to satisfy his inner child. It seems Sam cared more about himself than his family to be flitting around the country when he had a family who needed him at home.

Is it just me?

It takes time, commitment, and work travelling up and down that dial establishing that successful DJ career, so I'm willing to cut him some slack.
