A good mystery keeps the viewers coming back for more. A bad mystery leads to them watching as the credits roll on yet another episode full of unsatisfying non-information and heading off to find something else to watch…preferably a show that doesn’t string them along quite so much. We’ve all watched a show, hoping for some sort of resolution, and been disappointed when the story ultimately keeps us hanging on for far too long without any real explanation.

Here are 10 TV Show Mysteries That Dragged On Far Too Long

(**spoiler alert for most of these, obviously**)

10. The Flash – The Man in the Iron Mask - I had forgotten all about that particular "mystery", but really they teased it so long I lost interest

9. Doctor Who – The Cracks in the Universe - that went on for three seasons, but it was more of a background thing, so it didn't build quite as much and I still don't completely buy the explanation, but I was too upset about Amy leaving to care.

8. Lost – The Smoke Monster - don't get me started. LOST was one show that went downhill with each season, and the wrap-up at the end was so terrible and left me feeling so cheated and disgusted that I don't give a crap about any of the so-called "mysteries" anymore.

7. The Walking Dead – Who Did Negan Kill? - not interested in this show at all.

6. Pokémon – What’s In the GS Ball? - ummm, I do not understand why this is on this or any other list.

5. Young Justice – The Plans of The Light - OK, I watched that show and do not recall most of what they are talking about.

4. Death Note – Who is Kira? - no idea what this show is, am I still looking at the correct list?

3. How I Met Your Mother – How Ted Met the Mother - another show that cheated the viewers with a terrible resolution to an over-hyped "mystery". I actually liked the show as a sitcom for the most part, but I will never watch another second of it in reruns because they completely ruined it.

2. X-Files – What Happened to Samantha? - I never got too invested in Mulder's missing sister storyline, but I think that they were trying to add more info on it in the revival series?

1. Gossip Girl – Who is Gossip Girl? - I've never watched this show, but I knew it was Kristen Bell all along.

Who the heck shot Jim Longworth at the end of the last episode of The Glades???!!!
