View Full Version : Any sitcoms in which the protagonists end up in a lower economic class at the end?

In general, sitcom characters tend to end up staying largely the same or they get more successful and accomplished as the show runs. Are there examples of shows that do the opposite and have a main sitcom character deteriorate in economic well being as the show progresses?

Shows in which the main character is rich for the first 10 minutes of the pilot and then suddenly become poor don't count.

Hmmm... Married... With Children?

When that show started, the Bundys had two cars, there was actual food in the house, and Peggy occasionally cooked. In later seasons, the Bundys only had one car (the Dodge), and there was no food for Peg to cook (not that she would have anyway).

That is true. I always wonder where the Mustang is parked?? You know the one they won on How I Love Thee?? I see it every so often.
