I personally love the 40s-60s. We had Sock-Hops , Drive-Ins, Diners, The invention of Rock N'Roll. It was a cool time to live through

The 70's. I was in my 20's, My kids were little, 70's sitcoms, and the music was the greatest!:D

The 70s were pretty good. The only thing I hated was smoking. People smoked anywhere and everywhere and you had a higher risk of getting cancer because of it

Yup! I was one of them! I quit at age 40:happyface

In the 50's and 60's everybody smoked! Just watch any tv show from back then. And they also drank coffee in the evenings until they figured out that it kept them awake!

I was born during the 1980s. But I possibly suggest that the 1960s, the 1970s, the 1980s & the 1990s were the best decades ever when everything was at it's very peak including Sports, Music, Movies, Television, Fashion, Hair, Arts, Food, Tech, Products, Businesses/Communties, People & Events.

Likewise! That was the decade when I was a boy as well, and television then had some of the best title sequences I have ever seen (as opposed to now, when many shows don't even have title sequences).

The 1930's-I didn't vote for...we had The Great Depression.
The 1940's-I voted for...though we had WWII, we also had Big Band and good theatrical cartoons. But I feel that after 1945...things went bland.
The 1950's-I didn't vote for...but there was some good with it like Rock and Roll and Television.
The 1960's-I voted for...That Decade though I wasn't born yet...had The Beatles, Woodstock, good music, good TV shows, and though there was Vietnam...I felt that the 60's kept everything in America intact...almost.
The 1970's-I didn't vote for...though there was some good music and TV shows...the fashion was...OMG! That and there was disco!
The 1980's-I voted for...This is my 2nd favorite decade (The 60's is first) since it had MTV, VCR, The Next Big Three (Reagan, Thatcher, and Gorbachev), SatAM Cartoons that were good, TV Shows that were good, and music that was cheesy yet good! I grew up in a good decade!
The 1990's-I voted for...It was like the 1980's, but less flashy. There was good entertainment with video games, music, TV, and cable and I grew up in that decade. 1996 is the peak of anything good, by 1997...it wen downhill fast!
The 2000's-I didn't vote for...that decade was bad for me and entertainment really ate that year with reality shows on every station!
The 2010's-I didn't vote for...this decade is the same as the 2000's...no good shows unless you love reality shows, no good music, no good anything!

I voted for the 40's -70's, for the 40s they had the best old time radio programs in the world. Shows like Fibber McGee & Molly, The Great Gildersleeve, Jack Benny, The Lone Ranger, The Shadow, and many other great shows. For the 50s television was beginning, and more great shows began. The 60s, the decade I was born(1966), Shows like Gunsmoke, Gilligan's Island , The Beverly Hillbillies, and The Munsters were all big shows. Also The Christmas specials started in this decade like Rudolph, Charlie Brown, The Grinch, and Frosty. The 70s were great because being a kid, there were a lot of great Saturday morning shows were on. Fat Albert, Bugs Bunny/Road Runner, Scooby Doo, and many others I grew up watching in that decade. I loved going to the mall then. The malls were just starting to come out. The 80s were ok, but I think the 40s to the 70s were the best!

I voted for 60's. I was born in the 70's, my childhood was the 80's but if I lived back then I know I would be a hippie, going to protests, love the music and I would definitely be going to Woodstock.

The 2000's- I chose that decade for...Futurama, American Dad, Family Guy and nu metal!

The 2010's- I chose that decade for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Uncle Grandpa!

1970's, great music & TV shows, funky fashions and cool cars. I was a teenager through most of the 70's and I had a blast.

I am surprised you ranked the 1940s over the 1950s.

The '50s had quite a few things that the '40s lacked. Rock 'n' Roll and television, as you mentioned. Also:

- Factory-built high performance cars. Such as the Chrysler 300-C (as much as 390 horsepower in 1957), DeSoto (345-Hemi/345 hp also in '57), Oldsmobile Rocket 88, Pontiac Tri-power, '57 Plymouth Fury (318/290 hp), Ford Interceptor, Studebaker Hawk (289-supercharged/275 hp), '59 Cadillac with "Q" engine (390/345 hp) and the Corvette. And can't forget the fins on cars (see photo; '59 Cadillac).

- Pompadour hair style

- Poodle Skirts

- Hula-hoops and frisbees

- Drive-ins with car hops

- Street racing (probably also was done in the '40s, but '50s cars were faster)

My favorite decade only including when I was alive, would be the 1970s. Teen years for much of that decade. I also liked the 1960s... fun to be a kid back then.

If picking any decade, it would be the 1950s. A good combination of old/traditional and modern or relatively modern (cars, TV, radio, etc).

I picked 30s thru the 70s :) (The 80s were the most DESTRUCTIVE decade ever)

I voted the 30's - 60's.

It was a simple time. Very little technology. Being a kid in the 60's was great, the TV shows, the toys. We lived in So. Calif. We went to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm. All cool and affordable.
