It was announced today that after 5 seasons, Ally McBeal has been cancelled. Poor ratings were cited as one of the reasons. It placed 43rd in the ratings.
I've always loved Ally McBeal, but I'm not bothered that it's over, as it hasn't been that great lately. It had a good run. Five years is something to be proud of.

It's my aunt's favorite show. Too bad. I personally never got the appeal of it though.

Oh, No???? NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! No, It Can't Be Happening!!!! why did they had to do this????:( Why,God,Why??? what have i done to deserve this??? Why? Why? Why? Why did they had to take the show away from Calista Flockhart??? that is one of my favorite sit-coms ever!!!!:crying: and they didn't get to do thier final episode.

i guess it's time for me to go on without watching new episodes, at least i can still watch the reruns on FX.

**** Fox , thats all I can say.

This show is ultimately the greatest show on earth and that Dick David cancels it. 5 seasons is no where near enough.

What is it with FOX anyway,
First they cancel
FAMILY GUY - BRILLIANT SHOW
FUTURAMA - BRILLIANT SHOW

...and NOW

THE BEST ONE: ALLY MCBEAL!!!  mad:

It is too bad.
Although they have been slipping this season, I always found the shwo entertaining.
I wish things had worked out with Robert Downey Jr.
He really brought the show up when he joined the cast.

I do give them credit, they always tried to make things interesting. Dame Edna was a wonderful (not to mention wierd) addition to the cast. Ditto with Christina Ricci. She made an awesome debut this week.
A shame.

They did that like 3 or 4 times....Robert Downey Jr. pulled it up a little bit, but in the end it still didn't last. I'm glad its gone too, because the episodes just weren't funny anymore. It's like trying to milk a dead cow. Ya can't get humor out of a dying show.

I agree.
Too many cast changes, not enough quality episodes. Too bad Downey couldn't keep himself clean or else things might have gotten good.

I will miss Peter MacNicol, though. John Cage always cracked me up.

Yes! Maybe this will teach David E. Kelley a thing or two and Boston Public will be axed as well. No need for all of those dumb sex jokes, bad teachers, potty-mouthed students and idotic lawyers.

Can't wait for FOX's new Muppet show!

DEK cancelled the show not Fox. If you want to blame somebody i suggest calling up all those people who tuned out. the show's ratings are horrible.

I am personally glad Fox cancelled that show. I thought it was really stupid and the jokes sucked. It was even worse than MASH which is the worst show it television history. I don't know when but when Rosie O'Donnell had a guest appearance on that show I dedicided to watch it. The first half hour was grueling and I just decided I wasn't going to go through another half hour of that crap.
