Awesome! Hope she devotes a nice-sized part of the book to her 9-year "Facts" experience!

I don't have Facebook nor Twitter anymore so i'm not on there as much as I used to so this is my first time hearing about this news. Thanks for posting. This is exciting news! I missed her Intimate Portrait and Biography that aired in the early 2000s so i can catch up on some cool details about her life! Books are always better than the program anyway.....

But hopefully a lot of "Facts" coverage; after the disappointing only 35-or-so pages Charlotte devoted to "Facts" in her book, I'm hoping Kim shares a lot more!

I totally agree! I want something really juicy but knowing the type of person that Kim is, she'll keep it cute and classy. It'll still be really interesting though....

I don't care if it's juicy or classy, as long as there is in-depth coverage (probably hoping too much, but I can't help it, lol).

I hope we get new info. I don't need to read about the producers putting a scale on the set, or other stuff that's already been covered. But I would settle for a robust FOL section.

I really want to hear her individual relationships with Nancy Mckeon, Lisa Whelchel, Mindy Cohn, and Charlotte Rae.

We will undoubtedly read about Kim's relationships with her co-stars. But I'd like to read more about Kim's 37-year friendship with Julie Piekarski, and how they maintained that friendship all these years. They are still cross-posting each other's photos on Facebook, getting together, and are clearly still close. I'm not in touch with anyone I knew 37 years ago, outside of family.

Thanks, Jayman! Anything about the Lost Girls in the excerpt?

Ooo, that gold circle notation sounds promising! Man let's hope there's some great FOL stuff in there...but, I'm sorry, yes Kim looks great, but I totally wanna change that hair style and color (sorry Kim!).

I don't hold out much hope; and yes, I was disappointed by Charlotte's book too.

Has anyone picked up a copy and read it yet? I'm about halfway through... will post thoughts when finished...

So, I had a chance to read Kim's book this week. I was very pleased by the amount of "Facts" material in it. It will please most FOL fans. At least, I was pleased.

She talks about her 40-year friendship with Julie Pie, school days with Nancy McKeon, and various tidbits. She mentions problems on the Diff'rent Strokes set, with its young stars, including Dana and Gary.

She also confirms that they knew the cast would be purged between seasons one and two, and says she feared she would be axed. (Kim, Felice and Molly have all confirmed that they knew there would be a cast purge, so I don't know why Lisa says she didn't know.)

This book feels very much like Kim's voice, throughout. It feels like the complete opposite of Molly's tres chic book, which I wanted to like, but couldn't. Definitely worth getting, for any FOL fan.

I was just thinking about this last night! I thought, "Hmm, they posted about Kim's book several years ago, I wonder if anyone's read it? No one's shared anything about FOL in there at the board?"

Interesting...were the problems on the set with Dana and Gary with Kim, or with themselves, or between themselves and the show's producers/crew, etc.?

MOST IMPORTANTLY---does she mention Julie Anne/Cindy??

She also confirms that they knew the cast would be purged between seasons one and two, and says she feared she would be axed.

Aha! I knew it! (or I figured it anyway, lol) I knew something was afoot there!

(Kim, Felice and Molly have all confirmed that they knew there would be a cast purge, so I don't know why Lisa says she didn't know.)

I don't remember where Felice or Molly said their confirmations, but I'm glad they did!

so I don't know why Lisa says she didn't know.)

And Mindy! When she talks about showing up to the first table read for season 2 "and it's like, OMG, where'd ev'rybody go?? lol"

Getting the Pretty Back? Did you read it because you're a MR fan? I mean I enjoyed her a lot as a Lost Girl but I had no interest in reading her book because there was nothing FOL in it. lol

Well, to be fair, the book only came out last year.

Gary's behavior with an unnamed producer, Dana dyeing her hair. It's clear, however, that she idolized Todd Bridges.

MOST IMPORTANTLY---does she mention Julie Anne/Cindy??

Julie Anne is briefly mentioned, as is Molly. There is a cute story about Felice, and a couple of very nice paragraphs about Julie. As a Lost Girls fan, I was satisfied.

I don't remember where Felice or Molly said their confirmations, but I'm glad they did!

Felice states in (I believe) Cast Confessions that she was in her house's basement when she got the phone call. Molly says in the WWHL interview that producers originally told her that she was staying, but then added Nancy McKeon.

And Mindy! When she talks about showing up to the first table read for season 2 "and it's like, OMG, where'd ev'rybody go?? lol"

Yep! But at least Mindy does not say that she never heard any rumors.

I didn't read it, just previewed. it As you say, there wasn't any FOL material in it: no juicy details of her war with Mindy Cohn. Just ten different ways to make a wine cozy while you're in Paris during your Christmas vacation, and your personal assistant is picking up the Bree from the local gourmet cheese shop in a fancy little bistro down the road from where she shot a film in the 1990s. Nothing useful or practical in my life, and totally disconnected from most Americans' reality.

WOW; well it was 2 or 3 years ago that we were hearing about it here at the board, that's why I thought it had been out a good while, lol.

Oh, and Lisa did? I don't remember her exact quote, just the generalization of her speaking of coming back after summer, and being surprised at the empty room, so to speak.

Lisa says "Nobody knew, that I know of, that there going to make this big cut."

I'm reciting that from memory, so...
