For a refresher, it's the case about a ship during the last days of WWII patrolling the California coast, who, according to some members of the crew, fired at and sunk a submarine in March of 1945. Some of the crew even believed that they actually sunk an American vessel in a friendly fire incident. It was played up as a huge coverup, because the Navy denies to this day that a vessel was ever hit.

Just saw this segment on the Farina episodes for the first time. It was a short 6-7 minute segment, and I wonder if the original broadcast was longer on NBC. Because there was literally nothing presented in the segment, aside from a few anecdotal stories from the crew, that they actually hit a submarine. Does anyone have more information or opinions about this case?
