What are your feelings on Howard Stern? Does the self-annointed King of All Media make you laugh or make you feel he should be yanked off the airwaves?

Why doI think otherwise? Well he invites these Porn stars on his show and they take off there tops and all and the spin a sex wheel! Is that Grody or what!

I hate him. When I watched his show, all he ever talked about was sex and porn.

I didn't think much about Howard until I read his book, Private Parts. It was so funny and I found myself agreeing with a lot of his opinions on things other than porn etc. I listen to his radio show every chance I get now. Sometimes it gets over the top, then I just turn it off; sometimes I can't wait to hear what will happen next.

I hate his show because of the things his viewers said when they called in when Dana Plato was on the show. The horrible things those people said to her had to have played a role in her suicide very soon after her appearance on his show. (I cant remember how long it was in between her being on the show and her death, though I know it wasnt very long)

Yeah, Howard Stern is truly a love or hate topic.

Personally, I have been a fan of Howard Stern for a long time.

I think Howard Stern can be totally obnoxious at times with the strippers, etc.--that's when I change stations on either the radio or TV. That's not the Howard Stern I enjoy whatsoever.
However, I do enjoy his interviews with celebrities and politicians. He has a lot of A-list guests on his show. He asks the questions most of us want to hear, and doesn't pull any punches. For example, he asked Paul McCartney flat out, "Do you hate Yoko Ono, and did she break up the Beatles?" He's hilarious with Donald Trump and Alec Baldwin, both frequent guests.
I've laughed alone in my car on the way to work, and felt silly over it. He can be downright hilarious at times.
I also like listening to him when he's talking about an issue--when he's being serious. No sacred cows for this guy--he tells it like it is.
With an audience of 17 million listeners and an annual salary of 25 million, he has his fans.

I think Howard Stern has gone a long way on absolutely no talent. Someone above mentioned Dana Plato's appearance on his show. Her suicide took place in a matter of days after her disastorous experince on Stern's show. Granted, she was a deeply troubled young lady before she did that interview, but I've always felt that Howard Stern was partially responsible for her decision to take her own life.

I remember Howard Stern when he was a local dj in Washington Dc. He was crude then as much as he is now, some things never change.

But he is not the only out there. I was just reading the other day about a local dj somewhere who "got fired" ( but rehired soon ) for cracking a joke about the World trade Center. Calling ( live on the air ) New York information trying to get the phone number for the restuarant that was located on the top floor of one of the towers. Kept going on and on giving the operator a hard time becuase she "couldnt find the number". Talk about sick !!!!

Of course you have shows like Mancow, Greaseman, Don & Mike, Opie and Anthony, Ron & Fez, John Boy and Billy, heck I have even caught crude stuff on religious stations, like saying that people with AIDS "deserves what they get and will burn in hell".

What I find interesting about this, well 2 things. Radio can get away with a lot more than tv does. Radio rarely gets sued for the things its djs say. ( how often does someone tape a dj off the radio ). Thats why some djs like Stern and Mancow can get away calling someone "a slut" or talk about things that are simply not true like the stuff I heard on Stern's show about Dana Plato. ( Didnt Stern - couldve been John Boy and Billy , say that she did "tons of porn films"..not true !!!! )

And it will get worse....some radio broadcast companies I read are trying to get the FCC to allow them to use the "f" word on the air. Right now where I live we have a classic rock station that has "stripper Fridays" where strippers , and they do this live on the air will give the djs lap nude lap dances.

One can only wonder what radio will be like in 5 years.

I think you are absolutely on target with everything you've said. It's really sad to see the proliferation of these foul-mouthed punks on the radio, passing off what they do as "entertainment".

It doesn't take any talent or creativity to go on the air and spew out a bunch of obscenities, bathroom humor, or lesbian jokes.

Most of these guys sound and act as though they're about 15 years old (although I know a lot of 15 year olds who are more mature than Howard Stern or Opie and Anthony).

The day after she was on there she was found dead. I'm not sure if it was an accident or suicide, I don't think she's do that to her son.

In 5 years radio will be wherever the public takes it. It's a business that makes a lot of money giving the people what it wants. If no one is listening, they don't make money. I can safely bet that what is out there has a huge audience.

Diddo - I could take him or leave him before, but after that, I lost all my respect for him that he allowed those jerks to keep hounding Dana Plato and make fun of her live on the air!

im not a hooked fan but if theres nothing else to watch at 11 pm ill watch it. i particularly like the lesbian shows but not absoultly stupid sensless stuff. I wish they wouldnt censor it though. plus i think its kind of funny of wanna be porn stars or playboy girls taking off their clothes looking stupid. if i was there id throw quarters at them

Two years ago, I started listening to Howard Stern religiously. He was funny, he cracked me up, and I could never get enough of him. Now it's the stupid trend on KISW in Seattle, where they air him weekdays, to have a bunch of djs to go on the "let's-get-real"
schtick and be vulgar and crude and obnoxious, and encourage listeners to do the same. Not that Howard Stern isn't funny (he can be), but everyone seems to want to steal his thunder and do his act. It's STUPID.:mad: They got that stupid Crazy Cabbie on
commercials for Trim-Spa diet thing and something for guys to "enlarge their penis"...if it were elsewhere and done by a more sensitive person, it would be okay, but Crazy Cabby makes it sound so "shocking and titillating"...like "wow, I'm talking about sex on prime time radio ads, aren't I wild!!":rolleyes: :mad: I'm just sick of it. It doesn't offend me, it just makes me wonder what level of stupidity to people have to go to in order to pander to a brainless audience...

I think he's great. I love his show. We don't have it here, so I have to get my fix from his E! show. I make sure to listen to him whenever I'm in Seattle, though.

He annoys the heck out of me. I can not stand him. I do not find him humorous in the slightest bit. He's odd, though. I'd bet if he read all these hate posts, he'd actually see them in a positive light. As if he did something that got people to notice him enough to hate him. And that has to be admired. But, everything else about him just plain out sucks.

I think hes funny. I listen to his show every morning before school, and watch it on E!.

He can be really hilarious sometimes, but sometimes he's a little over the top for me. Whatever he's doing though, he's always outrageous.

I love his show, I listen to it every morning! I hate his views on the war with Iraq though. He should stick to what he does best ENTERTAIN, and leave the politics to the talk shows on the AM dial.

I didnt like him really on reg radio and now I like him even less.....

He uses foul language and does stupid things on his show....

I heard when he first went to Sirius they didnt like his content and were gonna drop him.....

He;s a rare bird and I love nor hate anyone, almost, but I watched a little of him yrs ago.

I dont watch his current show but he had his tv show on E!, that was top tier gold.

When he started on WNBC in the 80's, I didn't like him. I thought he was obnoxious. Sometime after the switched to K-Rock, I started to listed to him and although I was offended by some stuff, I began to let that roll off my back and I thought he was hilarious. I listened to him for years, but after Jackie and Billy West left the show it went downhill. I still listened for a long time after that but when the basic Sirius/XM subscription stopped including his channel, I stopped listening. What happened was that Howard became lazy and no longer put a lot of effort into the show. The whole crew just sat around talking about themselves. No more funny bits. No more skits. Plus, I hated the hangers on who took the real talented people's places. Now he's totally woke and I can't stand him. I also heard a lot of horror stories about how he treated his staff, especially Scott the Engineer. Robin used to live in my building, but I never spoke to her.
