ABC has renewed veteran multi-camera sitcom "Last Man Standing" for Season 6.

The show is arguably running out of steam now. I feel that at this point they are doing the show for a steady paycheck. I think this show is simply the result of being on the air longer than expected. I felt creatively every storyline was basically finished and while there were possibilities for another season, I think everyone involved believed Season 5 was going to be the last. I think ABC gifted them with a sixth season (http://forums.previously.tv/topic/47926-season-6-discussion/#comment-2633802) mainly because they didn't have a show to open the 8 p.m. Friday night slot and since LMS has been a steady performer, they ordered a sixth Season.

Their ratings have dropped each season even though Season 2 was a big drop due to the cast change with Kristin/Boyd/Ryan and changing it from Tuesday to Friday nights. Many critics have said though it came down to money most likely. The show returns around October, goes straight into sweeps, celebrates 100 episodes, syndication money comes in and then Tim Allen still works with Disney.
