Nice! But, too bad "Wings" won't be part of this.

Yes, I totally agree. I adore Wings. But nevertheless, this idea of marathons really rocks-- not only is it nice for the fans but also a way to introduce others to shows they would not normally watch. Hope they pick "the best of..."

Antenna is a great station. I still can't get over that this FREE channel is leaps and bounds ahead of some pay for channels.

^If you look, you can buy "Wings: The Complete Series" on amazon for $29, or in stores (I'm sure) like Walmart, FYE, Best Buy, or Menards for around that price. I'm going to buy it this summer. After hear you say good things about it, I want to see it for myself! I'm sure I'll enjoy it!

I agree. The marathons are totally awesome. SO happy that "Mr. Belvedere" & "Newhart" are getting marathons! That just rocks!

My gripes are only that I wish "One Day at a Time" and "Wings" had gotten marathons ... "Wings" more than "One Day at a Time" but since I can't wait until the fall, I will buy the complete series on DVD and sample it myself!

I guess this means the schedule won't change until September. This is the longest schedule they have had. 8 months. Not that I care. I won't watch this credit crunch infested network.

I know. I thought they had promised me Valerie for my birthday (which is one of the listed dates)

Although, 9 hours of anything is probably a bit much.

Eh, a lot of shows I don't watch except Mr. Belvedere, Webster, The Jeffersons, Doogie Howser and maybe, Small Wonder.

Every Saturday Marathon during the summer looks great except for June 11th and August 27th

I know there's a reasonably decent set for $29 online-but I'm trying to hold off on buying more DVDs. I live in a small apartment and have been able to get the first six seasons at the library. No local store carries it and I know I sound quirky, but I don't like buying things online.

NEVERTHELESS it is a charming show and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I may break down and buy it ...if you can borrow it from your library I'd go for it. I don't see it on Antenna yet, but if it arrives I'll burn it to some blank DVDs I still have.

^They said it's coming this fall, with start date to be announced later this summer. I'm hoping it doesn't get the "Dear John" graveyard treatment.

I'm holding off on buying TV shows until next month when I will readily splurge on shows like "Facts of Life", "Jeffersons", "Wings", "Hart to Hart", "Quincy, M.E.", "The Patty Duke Show", etc.

The one positive of getting the "graveyard treatment" on Antennatv is that the second episode shown every night doesn't get a credit crunch.

^It doesn't truly matter to me because I'm going to buy the complete series next month. And as much as I love "Barney Miller" and "3s Company", I own the complete series to both and I can't WAIT till they're gone from the 8-10 slot on Saturday! I much preferred "Family Ties" and "Newhart"!

It's been difficult for me to catch Dear John and Newhart with the time slots Antenna gives them.

I find the first season of Newhart to be the most interesting. Later on it's too much Steph & Michael for me.

Even if it comes on at a bad time, I'll just set my DVD recorder. The only down side will be having the commercials. But that's always the price you pay when you burn from TV.

Sorry you feel this way about Antenna. But if the credit crunches are a deal breaker for you then they're a deal breaker for you. Do I like credit curunches? Of course not. But to get to see some shows I thought would never reappear after many decades, I can't find fault with them. The cc's are basically a very small shortcoming, considering the pluses.

BTW, what channels do you watch and do you have to pay for them?

I used to really hate the credit crunches on Antenna (still do) but in the past few months I've become content with Antenna. I mean, where else are you gonna see shows like All in the Family, Barney Miller, Doogie Howser M.D., Dear John, My Mother the Car, It's About Time, Johnny Carson, One Day at a Time, Webster, Family Ties, etc.? And they're working on more. I really love Antenna.

OH Nuts!

Exactly! And it's FREE too (in many major cities). For me, the cc's are a minor irritation amidst all the bounty.

Yes! I wish they'd bring back Bachelor Father though! And Soap and Benson and bring on MHMH!!! If Cozi didn't have it, I'd say The Munsters would make a pretty good fit as well.

At this point I mostly just watch my classic shows on DVD, then I just watch local news on television and sometimes Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and some football or basketball. I also watch CNN through Sling TV to keep up with the election.

All in the Family and Barney Miller have been complete on DVD for years. Family Ties is also complete on DVD and I have it. I am in Season 3 right now and I really enjoy it.

Do the credit crunches annoy me? You bet, but I will deal with it. Now, I still have the interference with Antenna TV that I was telling you about a few weeks back. About how a show will freeze up and I cant watch it. I sent an email to Antenna TV and they responded and said its probably my cable provider's fault. I have Comcast, so that doesnt surprise me that I would be having problems. I have to call Comcast about this.

But like I said before, the Summerthons really do nothing for me, not because of the credit crunch but because there's really nothing I like on there with the exception of a couple of shows. I more interested with Webster coming than anything else.

To be honest, I mostly do that too; it's a lot more efficient watching an ep 21 min straight through without commercial interruptions. I'd say I do 3/4 watching DVDs and maybe 1/4 Antenna. And occasionally the news. I usually get the news from the Internet.

I do a lot of viewing via DVD too. I won't be watching Antenna as much as I did this winter this summer, of course, but I will still be catching up on "One Day at a Time" and "Johnny Carson" this summer. Missing shows like "Mork & Mindy" and "Family Ties" won't be a huge miss for me because I can get "Mork & Mindy" for $44 the entire series and I own "Family Ties". All in all, Antenna's still a great station and the summer marathons look interesting.
