Looks good. Svenfan1234 05-11-2016, 10:03 PM I'm looking forward to this!!! LittleRickyII 05-16-2016, 01:48 PM Here's a commercial/video promoting the new special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOUHEn05oOM ChrisTV 05-16-2016, 06:20 PM The ad says.. "I Love Lucy goes to Hollywood in color for the first time ever." CBS needs to get their act together & realize their mistake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOUHEn05oOM LittleRickyII 05-17-2016, 05:14 PM The ad says.. "I Love Lucy goes to Hollywood in color for the first time ever." CBS needs to get their act together & realize their mistake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOUHEn05oOM Yeah, I noticed that, too. I was wondering whether the people who put that ad together actually watch CBS. That's a big goof. Anna Karenina 05-20-2016, 08:05 PM I love seeing it in color again! Lucy's hostess dress is amazing and iconic!:D mets82 05-20-2016, 08:11 PM My mother reminded me of the special. I'm watching it. Man, can Lucy whine with the best of them? "Ricky, we haven't been anywhere," "Ricky, we hardly have any souvenirs." Plus, she wants to steal John Wayne's footprints. I mean you can't do that. She acts like a spoiled brat. When, she took the footprints, her ass should have been in jail. Anna Karenina 05-20-2016, 08:24 PM Lucy's ass should have been in jail for so many things including kidnapping a "girl" singer and gagging and locking her in a closet.:D opus 05-20-2016, 09:00 PM Her ass ended up in cement... Anna Karenina 05-20-2016, 09:14 PM She also her assed Bobby the Bell Boy! http://65.media.tumblr.com/18c2b386083a42605d4ecf03edef83a7/tumblr_inline_nr643zagww1rvl0vd_1280.jpg Nordy 05-20-2016, 09:29 PM I'm sorry I guess I am a little old fashioned but I don't want to see Lucy colorized. I love the episodes and the one with John Wayne is one of my favorites but I don't think I'm going to watch it in color. opus 05-20-2016, 09:40 PM I'm sorry I guess I am a little old fashioned but I don't want to see Lucy colorized. I love the episodes and the one with John Wayne is one of my favorites but I don't think I'm going to watch it in color. Yup, that's the eternal debate. I think it's OK as long as the B&W versions are also readily available. Anna Karenina 05-20-2016, 09:41 PM I know how you feel, Nordy but they have really improved the process, I think it looks glorious in color. Of course it also looks glorious in black and white as well. Anna Karenina 05-20-2016, 09:44 PM Yup, that's the eternal debate. I think it's OK as long as the B&W versions are also readily available. That's how I feel too. Bonniegirl 05-20-2016, 10:07 PM That's how I feel too. Me too!! I prefer the original black & white (makes it seem older, more charming) but it is fun to see it in color for a change! It's fun, glad they are putting these colorized specials on! :) ;) It's only 7:10 here now, hasn't been on yet! Nordy 05-20-2016, 10:13 PM Ok ok you all convinced me but I would like to see the episode "Lucy's Schedule" I always thought that was funny Lucy playing catch with the rolls with Ethel. Svenfan1234 05-20-2016, 10:17 PM When is this on again??? I missed it :( BigManMike 05-20-2016, 10:31 PM I missed it too. I was busy with company and I forgot to record it. I hope they can show these again at Christmas in addition to the usual Christmas one. LittleRickyII 05-20-2016, 10:43 PM Oh cool! Is that one on tonight? I liked that ep. I thought both were Hollywood eps.! The special is on in less than 20 minutes for us here in SoCal, Bonniegirl! I can't wait! Bonniegirl 05-20-2016, 10:50 PM The special is on in less than 20 minutes for us here in SoCal, Bonniegirl! I can't wait! Yep!!! I'm about to put channel 2 on!! ;) jehobden 05-20-2016, 10:54 PM I just found out about the date change now (too late). Will CBS be rerunning it? Bonniegirl 05-20-2016, 11:33 PM Her ass ended up in cement... That scene was just on!! :D mets82 05-20-2016, 11:42 PM I'm used to seeing ILL in black and white. The color really doesn't do anything for me. I don't mind either way. 1960'sTVfan 05-21-2016, 03:14 PM My mother reminded me of the special. I'm watching it. She acts like a spoiled brat. When, she took the footprints, her ass should have been in jail. I agree, what she did was stealing! They sure allowed her to do some outlandish things in this show, anything for a laugh I guess. I watched these episodes last night, dozed off to sleep during the 2nd half hour so I missed a little. What I saw was fairly funny though, the colorization looked fake and not realistic but I expected that anyway. spunkygirl 05-21-2016, 05:20 PM I'm not a fan of colorizing B&W episodes but this looked glorious I agree, what she did was stealing! They sure allowed her to do some outlandish things in this show, anything for a laugh I guess. I watched these episodes last night, dozed off to sleep during the 2nd half hour so I missed a little. What I saw was fairly funny though, the colorization looked fake and not realistic but I expected that anyway. OMG she stole, let's lock her up  You know how silly that sounds? Seriously if you're not a fan why are you here  1960'sTVfan 05-21-2016, 06:31 PM I'm not a fan of colorizing B&W episodes but this looked glorious OMG she stole, let's lock her up  You know how silly that sounds? Seriously if you're not a fan why are you here  mets82 posted and said her ass should have been in jail, I replied and agreed. That's why I'm here, not that I owe anyone an explanation. If you're looking for someone to pick on, I suggest you bother mets82 for saying her ass should have been in jail. I don't see you complaining about that. And I suppose you think it's OK for people to steal stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if you've been guilty of stealing things during your life. Maybe your ass should be in jail too.  Nordy 05-21-2016, 06:40 PM I can't imagine Lucy in jail. It'll be like when Lucy and Ethel were confused for being Pickpocket Pearl and Slippery Fingers Sal biffbronson 05-21-2016, 07:27 PM I thought the color was very well-done, unless someone is expecting the result to be like the filming took place today. This is probably as good as it gets for 60-year-old film. Part 2 demonstated to me why this was a superior series. The inventive ways the cement impressions got ruined -- that really "made" the eps for me. Bonniegirl 05-21-2016, 07:33 PM After watching, I want to go out and have my hair dyed red!!! LittleRickyII 05-22-2016, 01:11 AM I thought the color was very well-done, unless someone is expecting the result to be like the filming took place today. This is probably as good as it gets for 60-year-old film. Part 2 demonstated to me why this was a superior series. The inventive ways the cement impressions got ruined -- that really "made" the eps for me. I agree. And I think they finally got Lucy's hair color right. It was a bit of a distraction in the other colorized episodes. It had been looking like she was walking around with fire on her head. But last night I thought it looked very, very close to her actual hair color. There were several times last night that I had to stop and remind myself I was watching a colorized show. It was so well done that I got caught up in simply watching the show and would forget about the colorization. biffbronson 05-22-2016, 10:37 AM I know it won't happen, but I think it would be fun sometime if one of Lucy's films could also be aired by CBS, right after the special. "The Long, Long Trailer" would be a good choice since it's a color movie. If any more Hollywood eps will be colorized, the one I'd like to see most is the Harpo Marx appearance. Bonniegirl 07-04-2016, 03:31 PM I can't find the thread where we were picking eps. that we thought should be made into colorized versions! So I'll post here! The ep.where Lucy picks out Ethel's birthday gift for Fred, the hostess pants. And Ethel doesn't like them and insults them in front of Lucy, not knowing she picked them out, NOT Fred! It would be fun to see them in color! https://jacksonupperco.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/cbs_lucy_106_clip1_764k_640x480_2103572174.jpg Bonniegirl 06-11-2018, 10:58 PM Another ep, that would be really fun colorized is "Mr. & Mrs. Tv show" !:);) :D I just watched this ep. today. Very funny ! http://lucille-ball.info/wp-content/uploads/mr-and-mrs-tv-show-i-love-lucy.png https://78.media.tumblr.com/f0ab886fcb70dcc9ac47dd8248202a08/tumblr_inline_nv350okSah1rvl0vd_540.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/originals/19/f7/2a/19f72a628a65bb3f42085399abc903df.jpg |
