Hello,

I know this is more classic film than general television However this film only ever airs on TV, so I thought maybe it might be OK to post.

Man's Castle aired twice in April on GetTV .. supposedly this is the long lost version that originally was shown in theaters when Tracy was an unknown actor.

A few years later when he became a star it was re-released theatrically. However in that time span of only a few years the famous Hayes code was in full effect, and the film as it was made originally was judged too risque and could not pass the censors.

It had such shocking things as a man and a woman shown in a bed together waking up in the morning, and Loretta Young's character becoming pregnant while she was unwed. Almost laughable considering what's in movies today.

Unfortunately the end result was that several scenes with references to the pregnancy were cut plus some scenes with other "unseemly" dialogue as well.

With editing being less sopfiscated in the 30's this led to full scenes being cut for only a few lines of dialogue spread through them, which led to huge chunks of the film being missing from theater, and later, TV airings for decades.

The GetTV showing has supposedly not only replaced most cut scenes but has been remastered from a newly discovered print.

Would like to see this version if anyone may have saved it.
