Hi, I just joined. I love to collect dvds and it feels great to find people like myself who rather watch a good old tv show instead of some of the trash they have now. Don't get me wrong i did like some current shows just not a whole lot.

Welcome to our forum JJM. I've been collecting DVDs myself for nearly ten years now. My reason is the same as yours :angryfire (Lousy Programming, Excessive Advertising and, last but not least Sky High Pay-TV prices). :angryfire Cutting the cord (That's cancelling my Pay-TV subscription for those of you in Rio Linda! :rofl:) in January, 2007, I've used the money saved to procure my programming via home video (Mostly DVDs, but I also have some Blu-Rays and yes, even good old-fashioned VHS :D ). Pay-TV prices in my area have become so expensive that it's CHEAPER to acquire programming via home video.

I know that I am late to the conversation but welcome to the board JJM! I myself am a fellow dvd collector who has quite a collection of Tv shows. I collect shows that I love and even some shows I hate. Alongside collecting Tv shows, I am starting to focus on collecting films and music CDs
