The Brothers who act like they ae 8 year olds.. and the two wives who could do a helluva alot better in real life. In short, I'd like to put a spike through Rays head by the second season and I think everybody would cheer if the father and mother in laws from hell met a fiery death. :D OH Nuts! 05-13-2016, 09:06 AM Well, the Mother and Father In Law From Hell.. But I don't hate uber manipulative Marie, yahoo Frank, whiny Raymond or OCD Robbie though. They all may be a bit annoying, but as long as all I have to do is watch their dysfunctionality I'm fine with it. But I'd never put up with that crap from anyone in real life. The ep where Joanne calls Marie a bit*h is a riot. What I would have LOVED to see is Marie get a taste of her own medicine. Get involved with a neighbor or acquaintance who could run rings around her. I loved the ep where Debra, though smart as a whip, can't cook for sh*t yet makes that fantastic bracciole everone flips over except Marie. When Frank said to her "you should ask Debra how to make this" I LOVED the way it snapped Marie's girdle. Boy was she upset! I ate that up all right- no pun intended. Svenfan1234 05-13-2016, 09:10 AM I used to hate the show but now I'm thinking of giving it another chance. I think it's only fair. So overall would you say you like the show? OH Nuts! 05-13-2016, 09:13 AM Everybody Loves Raymond? Curious to what everyone thinks. I'm thinking of giving it another chance. I saw an episode a longggg time ago and I'm seriously thinking of getting it another chance. I think I'd like it. I really like the show, and I say try it out for free at the library if you can. If you love watching dysfunctional families at their finest then this show is for you. Very good writing and an outstanding cast, just my opinion though. Svenfan1234 05-13-2016, 09:15 AM ^My family loves ELR. I used to strongly dislike it, but I think that along with a few others, I'm going to give it another chance as well. I just tried out watching "The Drew Carey Show" on Laff and realized I can't stand the show lol. OH Nuts! 05-13-2016, 09:22 AM ^My family loves ELR. I just tried out watching "The Drew Carey Show" on Laff and realized I can't stand the show lol. Sometimes tastes change. For example, I used to hate That Girl as a kid (I was 11 when it first aired) and thought Don was a real drip-but now I just adore the show and Don as well. If you give it another go and it still makes you wretch then so be it. I have lots of shows that DON'T ring my bell that others are just wild about. I know a lot of people like The Beverly Hillbillies but I never cared for it. Also I'm not a sci if freak, so Star Trek never did anything for me either-yet I'm the first to admit it's an iconic show with a massive cult following. Yet I flip over a vintage 50s show called The Adventures Of Ozzie and Harriet, and others might watch it once or twice and go YECCH. Svenfan1234 05-13-2016, 09:24 AM Sometimes tastes change. I know, like my family loves "Malcolm in the Middle" and for the life of me can't understand why. Of course, they don't understand my love for "One Day at a Time" on Antenna. Also, on MeTV, don't know if you get this or not, but the first time I saw "Svengoolie" I absolutely flipped! Hence my avatar. So, I guess different taste. I do enjoy "That Girl" though! My iPad has this awful habit of changing some of the words I type, and I don't always catch them the first go around. Svenfan1234 05-13-2016, 09:31 AM ^Oh it's fine! And it's so cool you have an iPad!!! I'm not that fancy lol bmasters9 05-13-2016, 11:58 AM I have lots of shows that DON'T ring my bell that others are just wild about. I have quite a few of them too. As I've said before here, my brother Marc likes Little House On The Prairie, but I cannot stand it; also, my nephew Eli in Alabama loves I Love Lucy, but after two seasons' worth, I gave up on it and haven't come back. I'm a big Michael Landon fan so I love LHOP. And I really do love Lucy-so I have trhe entire series of both. How do you feel about Everybody Loves Raymond? bmasters9 05-17-2016, 06:11 AM How do you feel about Everybody Loves Raymond? Incredibly unfunny, that one! I didn't laugh once even while it was originally on CBS from 1996-05. OH Nuts! 05-17-2016, 07:27 AM Incredibly unfunny, that one! I didn't laugh once even while it was originally on CBS from 1996-05. What shows do you like? pkripper001 05-17-2016, 08:14 AM If you picked an alternative,& asked which of the 2 to give another chance, I would most likely tell you to pick the alternative, unless the alternative is The Drew Carey Show. Americas most funny home videos are better then these 2. Try to watch,if you can find it,Angie,it is somewhat similar, but way better. bmasters9 05-17-2016, 08:21 AM What shows do you like? Nothing from today, I dislike admitting, but two from the past that I very definitely like: Barney Miller The Bob Newhart Show Svenfan1234 05-17-2016, 08:58 AM ^I like BM and TBNS too!!! I dislike sitcoms from today, they seem so risque to me bmasters9 05-17-2016, 06:16 PM ^I like BM and TBNS too!!! Well, many episodes are funny, really watch it cause I like Patricia Heaton who reacts like anyone would to the shenanigans. It's just a TV show. Nordy 05-18-2016, 02:10 AM I personally like the show. Not so much Raymond he's kind of annoying but I am a fan of Robert, Frank and Debra. Frank is so much like my own Grandpa I have to laugh at his comments because that is exactly what he would say in similar situations. JO Sweet Heart 05-19-2016, 08:42 PM To me, Marie's biggest mistake was putting up with Frank and his refusal to help her with Ray and Robert when they were kids. He is where Ray gets his laziness from. God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. Ray definitely did not defend Deborah to his mother enough, but whenever he actually did say anything, no difference was ever made, so in my opinion, every member of that family in one way or another put up with way to much. Amy and Robert especially should have just packed up their things and moved right after they got married in my opinion. |
