And I'm glad that his most recent film, Saving Christmas, bombed at the box office. Just because a film like that has a right-wing agenda, doesn't mean it is guaranteed to be a box office hit.

I did enjoy the show Growing Pains and his character back then, but what he has become is a messed up fanatic is just making him look like a fool and to be honest he deserves all the attacks he gets. The really sad thing is his sister Candace Cameron Bure from Full House and Fuller House back his beliefs and even on this issue.

I don't care for his views but he certainly has a right to them. I personally think he is rather misguided. A knee jerk reaction to the drug & sex-crazed life he had as a teen. So now he's trying to be Mr. Super Christian to make up for it.

He's a hasbeen sitcom actor who has done nothing professionally since GP went off the air. I wish people would stop giving this loser free press.

I'm sure that we can agree that there really shouldn't be an issue with Kirk Cameron wanting to use his religion as a way to personally heal himself. The main backlash dating back to his Growing Pains days however, is that it's quite apparent that he uses his beliefs as a weapon to bash other people for things he now has decided is ungodly. In essence, his version of religion is a fundamentalist revision: He wrote that hurricanes are punishments from God, that women should be submissive to men, believes the Bible-based version of the creation of man from mud and magic, things gay people can change their orientation and be straight, condemns "fornicators and adulterers," defends men in cases of sexual assault, that Christianity should be the basis for American government, etc...

I never really cared for him on GP. I really tried to like GP and Kirk, but his squeeky, whiney voice, kind of got to me.

Kirk Cameron and his fundamentalist ilk are a bunch of hypocrites, rationalizing whatever benefits them. They claim to treasure classic family values then turn around and wholeheartedly support serial adulterer Donald Trump.
