In the past, I have written about howu Reality TV tends to be monopolizing the dial at all hours of the day seven days a week. To start with, is was mainly on prime-time, and then it spilled into time lots in which syndicated episodes of old shows used to be common. This has happened on the major networks as well as a good number of the local stations. Another thing that I have mentioned is my idea that Reality TV is right up there was Elmo from "Sesame Street" in terms of things that people from Generation X hate! I think it is very amusing when they try to blame there problems on these two institution! In any event, for a while, there was one network and one time slot in which syndicated episodes of "Gimme a Break!" were shown. This was the WB 11 at three o'clock weekday mornings. Even during this period, there were several days in which they would throw something else on at this time instead of "Gimme a Break!". Off of the top of my head, I can think of "Celebrity Name Game" and "The Family Guy" as shows used as fillers. In any event, it has been several months since "Gimme a Break!" was abandoned completely. The show that got put in this half-hour period is "America's Court". I have never watched this show and I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has. Ever since it started, this show has been on every weekday morning with very few exceptions. I guess that the network managed to put the right Reality Show in the right times slot to please whomever their audience is!
