Okay...I have a lot of things that I haven't been using, but I don't want to get rid of it...things like pots and pans I can use in the near future but not now.
I can get rid of clothes since I've out-worn my shirts and some pants I can't get into to, so...that part is easy!
And should I just return some stuff to my parents house until further notice or rent a garage (If I do the latter...I'd like my brother to help me out, he has some things too).

If you think you might use those items in the future keep them. In my case I had a lot of household stuff stored in the garage that we eventually used in our RV for camping. And a lot of stuff I gave my son when he got his first apartment. So I was able to reuse a lot of stuff. But in your case if you can't foresee future use either throw stuff away or have a rummage sale.

Yes!;)
Besides a yard sale you could also donate stuff to Goodwill!;)

Every spring and fall I do a heavy duty cleaning. Everything is cleaned, from closets to drawers and even blankets. I then make several piles, one for things I am keeping (they go back once they and the area they were staying are both cleaned). Another pile is pure junk to be thrown out/recycled/burnt in my parents firepit. This is things like papers, and one year for example I burnt all my papers for high school/college and grad school (I tended to keep things). Another pile are things to be given away. These are things like clothes (though I usually do my clothes a week or two earlier), games I don't play, books I don't read etc. I then either donate them or hold them in case I am having a garage sale that or my parents are. It usually takes me 4-5 days to do this heavy cleaning but I get rid of a lot of stuff or find things I forgot about. I end up donating most of it and it is a good feeling to know perfectly good things I can't use someone else can. Plus it helps the various charities I support such as the local animal shelter.

I need to do some major Spring cleaning. I want to get a new bed and a major purge is long overdue.

I've now been putting books that I haven't been reading for over a year and may not for another year in a box.
I'd like to still keep them, but I'll be sending them to my parents until further notice.
